I'm in the market for a new helmet and want something aero but also breathable for year-round use. I'm currently using a Specialized Align II, but I want to upgrade and have a budget of around $300.

Head size is around 58cm, so I know I'm between M & L on most helmets.

This is my current shortlist 😅

What are your thoughts on these or any other aero/ventilated helmet options I should consider? I'm open to recommendations, or preferences with color choices. Thanks in advance for your input!

The only correct answer is the Giro Ares. Mips, plus spherical, and it’s low profile on your head.

I have both the protone icon and the falconer 2vi. I know fit is subjective, but based on personal experience and feedback from friends and other cyclists, the kask is more comfortable and fits most head shapes compared to the falconer. It’s also lighter and has better ventilation. It’s the kind of helmet where you forget you have it on because of how light and comfortable it is. I find that most people complain about the falconer because of some pressure they feel on their temples while they have it on. But I figured out that this helmet is supposed to sit very low on your forehead to not feel that. It does look really cool, but it’s way less comfortable than the kask.
