I felt so good at packing when I was home, I couldn't believe how good of a packer I became, there was so much space in my bags…

Hope you have a lot of clothes you can wear! I took a week-long trip this summer where I intentionally didn’t take a sleeping bag, just a bag liner, because the forecasted temperature wasn’t supposed to go below 15C overnight. It pretty much did every night. I ended up wearing pants on top of my pyjamas and my rain jacket on top of my shirt. 4 days in I was able to buy one of those foil emergency blankets but didn’t end up using it and I can’t even say why.

Oh nooo! Is it a long trip? How cold will it get? I once had an unexpected night out in the Pyrenees with 2 friends- we only had silk liners as we’d expected to get to an Alpine hut. We spent a fitful night shivering and dressed in EVERYTHING, including gaiters, but luckily were in no danger. Damn uncomfortable though.
