Experience: I've learned how to ride a bike as a kid, but I haven't touched one in years. I did a little bit of research on the frame size and I'm assuming I need around a 20"/51cm frame but I'm not exactly sure.
Price: Under $200 hard cap
Intention: Joyriding, exploring, and daytrips (will take on public transportation)
Conditions: Suburb/City with hills. Not gonna ride when raining.
Location: SF Bay Area
Physical Attributes: I am around 5'6.5" and have ~29in inseam without shoes. I weigh around 155 lbs. I regularly do resistance training but not much cardio.
Here are some listings I've found on Craigslist:
- Giant Escape City Medium ($100)
- Trek Alpha 1.1 ($150)
- KHS Urban Soul 7 ($70)
- Fuji Navada ($60)
- Trek 7300 ($90)
- Giant Cyprus ST ($100)
Which of these should I try and go for? Are there any red flags (not trying to buy a stolen bike even if the price is right)? I don't mind learning to replace things if they don't require expensive specialized tools and the total with the cost of parts are under $200.
