From Aberdeen we make our way to Duthie Park where the Deeside Way begins. It is about 17 miles from Aberdeen to Banchory.

The Deeside Way is mainly a dedicated cycle path running close to the River Dee.
The complete path (41 miles) runs from Aberdeen to Ballater, in the Cairngorms National Park,  famous for its Victorian Heritage and links to Balmoral Castle.

Adult Salmon swim into the River Dee from the North Sea, from the coastal waters around Aberdeen where they begin their journey upstream to reach their spawning grounds in the upper reaches of the river.

The best months for spotting salmon leap at the Falls of Feugh are Sep to Nov and Feb to Mar.

It is indeed a thrilling experience!
