I’m in exactly the same boat as you w.r.t. MET sizing and found the large to be the right fit. Medium ends up sitting too high with way too much pressure when the retention mechanism is tightened up.
That helmet appears to be sitting just right on you. Appropriately low and very little excess on the sides.
