I have a status 170 DH coming in soon. It comes with a sram GX 7 speed. What would it take to convert to a GX 12 speed? Or is this totally not even worth doing?
I primarily purchased this bike as a park bike but if I’m traveling and want to bring this instead of my stumpjumper I’d like to have the gears to keep my options open.

That’s what the regular 170 is for.

The ‘DH’ means it’s a DH bike. Designed for lift access bike parks and shuttling

  2. You need a new shifter, new derailleur, new freehub body, new cassette, and a new chain.

Basically nothing from the 7 sp group is reusable except the cranks. The 7 speed runs on a hg freehub body where eagle needs a xd unless you run a nx cassette.
