Hey guys,
I recently had cataract surgery and therefore I´m required to wear glasses which keep the UV light out of my eyes because my natural lenses were removed and the artificial ones can´t stop UV light entering my eye. I used 100% Strata 2 for a long time now and I just wanna now if someone here knows if it has UV protection or if I have to replace it or buy UV proof inserts.
Thanks in advance

All plastic lenses will offer almost full UV protection regardless of the marketing applied to the box. The differences are minimal. Even normal soda-lime glass does, also. I’m a chemist working as a field service engineer on laboratory instruments—many of which utilize UV light—and to NOT filter out nearly all UV is the real challenge. You would have to pay thousands for a material to not absorb, so don’t go out of your way looking for specialized UV blocking lenses.

Safety glasses are 99.9% uv blocking. this example is $2.89 (Thats canadian … so like $2.13 usd)
Did you receive a unique cataract lens? It’s my understanding that since the 1980’s cataract lenses have provided UV protection. I had one eye done a couple years ago and will likely have the other done soon.
It’s almost impossible to not filter all UV light for a lense.
