Just a brief video this time as I cycle along the A418 Oxford Road in Aylesbury which has just reopened after two weeks of closure while HS2 get the new road ready.

I have to say that I'm really disappointed to not see more progress after two weeks of road closure. I've travelled around the diversion several times now, and avoided travel a few more. It's all very disheartening.
@3:43 they have resurfaced the road near the Sedrup junction and put some new kerb stones. Not sure why that requires 2 weeks of full closure. new drainage in the bank maybe?

not much for 2 weeks closure……. more inconvenience for aylesbury drivers
Did you get your drone up? I live very close to the site, the 2 week closure had huge negative impact.
Thank you, Karl for the update. It is so wrong it is still awaiting planning permissions.
Feel sorry for those businesses and the people of Stone what a mess up!! Thank you Labour and Mr Brown Idiot of the first Order
Do HS2 issue a schedule of the work( or not) they are meant to do on the dates the A418 is closed?
On the bright side, the hold-up is giving us extra content! 😁
AVDC most probably after more money before they give planning permission.

This Aylesbury area of the route seems to be really constipated. Maybe things will move very quickly once the blockages have been overcome.

Do you have any idea what the planning permission problem is? It seems strange to me they can get this far without it being sorted out.
think i'll do a fly over tomorrow
Thank you for the update.
