The Tour de France may have ended a week ago, but the professional cycling season is still going strong.

The Tour of Poland kicked off in Italy of all places. It even looked like a Tour de France repeat with Christophe Riblon taking another summit victory after his Tour win on the Alpe d’Huez, this time on the Passo Pordoi.

The Clasica San Sebastian in Spain saw many Tour de France stars to the fore, but in the end it was a surprise victory for Tony Gallopin of RadioShack-Leopard.

There was more news from the increasingly murky late nineties, with the French Senate Report into doping at the 1998 Tour de France.

On a lighter note, the details behind Ryder Hesjedal’s divisive sunglasses and the first images of the accompanying helmet range have been released, and last, but not least, we have Tweet of the Week.

    1. Lance Armstrong seen wearing the POC helmet is probably a good endorsement of the helmet, I can only imagine how many people would like to cave his head in, so if he feel's safe in it ,that's good enough for me !

    2. San Sebastian is one of the most boring classics imo. A few rode away on Jaizkibel and then one attacks and wins because the others refuse to work together to real him in. The moment you have 10 sec gap you pretty much have it in the bag. Gallopin is a very decent rider, but I wouldn't call him a worthy winner as every rider of that first group could've had it. The most lucky, yes.

    3. There are two parts of the Netherlands called 'Holland' – those are the ones in the west. But the country as a whole is called Netherlands. So if you, like me, go and cycle in Limburg then you will not be in Holland but in the Netherlands. If you go cycle in and around Amsterdam then you will be cycling in Holland AND Netherlands.

      Simple, innit?

    4. Listen people: Holland is just another word for the Netherlands, it is just the same country.. Some people like to say Holland some like to say the Netherlands but it is the same thing.

    5. personally I LOVE!! the helmet (how much are they) but HATE the glasses there a bit to much sitting on the beach with ur girl friend than racing in the Tour de france.
PS- could u plz make a video of the greatest sprints of the season thx

    6. Nope. Holland is just a part of the Netherlands (2 out of 12 provinces). It's the same as saying England is a synonymous word for the UK. Or saying Flanders is the same as Belgium.
