As the title says, I visited the beautiful market town of Chagford. Chagford is a market town and civil parish on the northeast edge of Dartmoor, in Devon, England, close to the River Teign and the A382, 4 miles west of Moretonhampstead. The name is derived from chag, meaning gorse or broom, and the ford suffix indicates its importance as a crossing place. My observations are the subject of this ride. A real visit down memory lane today! You rode through my home villiage (Throwleigh) and right past my parents old house 🙂 Chagford is a lovely place though like much of Devon is going upmarket (or perhaps it's my imagination). The gradient on some of the back lanes between Chagford and Moreton can be a bit steep 🙂 Best regards Sarah
