Hey everyone, it’s Aaron from Go Grava Bicycles! We’re celebrating the fifth month of our new bicycle store in Reading, Pennsylvania, and I wanted to share what I’ve learned so far as we navigate what feels like a bicycle recession in 2024.
In this video, I’ll talk about the trends I’m seeing in the cycling industry, backed by reports from Bicycle Retailer, and how they’re affecting sales—especially in the mountain bike and gravel bike categories. I’ll also share the strategic decisions I’ve made to keep Go Grava thriving, including our recent shift toward electric mobility, which has helped us turn a profit in August!
Plus, I’m excited to introduce our first part-time hire, who brings a unique set of skills that align with the evolving needs of our shop. From electrical engineering to 3D printing, we’re focusing on becoming a mobility service center, not just a traditional bike shop.

3:00 do we think Shimano is suffering b/c of it's own planned obsolescence/ deliberate compatibility problems? OR did Shimano start destroying their own product lines in an attempt to sustain sales by trapping consumers in their product ecosystem?
