    1. This was such an amazing race to watch. There was, however, a noticeable decrease in the video coverage when compared to the men's TDF, hopefully this excitement and fan turnout will help to push for more funding, longer tour, better video coverages (copters, motos, etc.) in future TDF Femmes. I would have loved to see more hours of coverage and race breakdown, including more insight on Vollering's crash circumstances leading to her being isolated for so long.

    2. So nice to see Niewiadoma win her big one.
So harsh to see Vollering loose after the crash while being by far the best rider
in this tour. And then she demolished the whole field all on her own in the last stage !
      With injury !

    3. Excellent race to watch with a thrilling denouement. Pleased for Niewiadoma (although I’m not sure that I’d entirely agree with Dani Christmas’ assessment that she raced in a more calculated way than she has in the past).

And you have to feel sorry for Demi Vollering who almost certainly would have won without the crash. However, if she hadn’t had to try to claw back that time, the final stage wouldn’t have been anything like as exciting.

    5. Am i the only one who thought it was a bit of a low blow for Muzik to pip Kasia for third.. the time bonus changed nothing for her but could have changed everything for Kasia. Iban Mayo did the same thing to Jan Ulrich and paid the price the next year.

    6. Just a scintillating Tour de France Femme. More nail biting than the men’s race that was so influenced by pre race injuries and illness.

    7. The ladies racing is much more interesting than the mens at present. A much more competitive peloton with unexpected winners appearing all the time.

    8. T. Rex making some monster moves for Belgium in the Tour de L'Avenir yesterday, surely Soudal QS need to get the man a jersey. How cool would that be.

That finale was amazing, what an advert for women's cycling. Even as a bit of a Kasia fanboy and after years of podium finishes I can't be more pleased she got her day in the sun. I would like to say its good for cycling that the big prizes are shared around to prove if nothing else that there is healthy competition out there for Demi. But you have to be realistic a combination of things had to go Kasia's way for her to win. A crash, a damaged Demi, Team SD Worx turning into SD Worst Team, Lucinda Brand pulling Kasia (and Realini) in the valley while Pauliana did next to no work for Demi. All these things went in Kasia's favour. Whether in hindsight Demi attacked too early I'm not sure, if she had won everyone would say it was a good attacking move as, neither had team mates at the front and obviously Demi thought she needed as much climbing metres as possible to make up the difference. Being injured and doing all the work and to still win was an incredible feat by an amazing woman. But sometimes the stars align for someone else, a bit like Kuss in La Vuelta last year, its cycling and sport in general, just sometimes it's not your day/week no matter what you do. I know its a cliche but at the end of the day Cycling was the winner as much as Kasia.

No Wout in Red after today. No way, surely? Cool while it lasted tho… never seen him so happy lol
