This second stage of the Vuelta 2024 didn’t show most of Portugal’s wonders like Cascais, Guincho, Cabo da Roca, Palacio da Pena, Sintra, Azenhas do Mar, Convento de Mafra, Santuário de Fátima, Castelo de Ourém. And did a bad job also in showing only a little of Mosteiro de Alcobaça and Mosteiro da Batalha, and Nazaré. But showed lots of eucalyptus. La Vuelta played with Turismo of Portugal, probably afraid that tourists would leave Spain to see Portugal’s wonders. This was supposed to be the best tv transmission ever, or something like it, and became so boring, thanks to our hermanos of Spain…
I just hope the on road fans can muster a bit more discipline & safety. Not the best of starts for the riders 😏

Wout is the 2nd place champion of all time. Which is a vast improvement over his performance at the Tour, where I don't know if I ever even heard his name called except to ask if he was even in the race.

This is ridiculous and shameful.
Now, the “less informed” — let's call them that — foreigners and tourists will definitely think that Portugal is part of Spain or belongs to Spain.
This is clearly an effort to show that Portugal and Spain are able to cooperate in the organization of big sport events and hopefully win the organization of things like the FIFA World Cup or even the Olympics, but then, it should be called something like "Iberian Tour" instead of "Vuelta a España 2024".
This is the subservience of the Portuguese authorities.
Pitiful.
