I'm so bummed! I just bought a 2019 Trek Emonda SL6 (still had the test-ride pedals on) and was very excited – the power transfer blew me away. But, then I was rear-ended by an uninsured (and drunk) driver driving it home after buying it! Downtube is cracked. Can anyone tell me what my best options are? I assume Trek won't do much for me? Sell whole for parts? I don't think I want the hassle of selling parts individually.
Thanks in advance!

  1. Honestly civil court / sue for damages. That really sucks, I’d be so disappointed!

Other than that, hopefully Trek will offer a discounted frame and then paying to transfer the old stuff to new frame won’t cost too much — also would be something to record and get back from that drunk driver.

  2. Un-insured “non-documented” (is that the right term?) Drunk driver. Cops on scene basically said I have no recourse. My car insurance won’t cover in this case, home owners is $2500 deductible so no help there.
