I lost a lot of weight three years ago and got back into cycling. I went from over 220 lbs to roughly 175 lbs. I want to get some nice cycling gear but I'm having a hard time dropping my weight below 175 lbs. For pants size L works really well already. Jerseys are a bit more difficult because I just can't get rid of my beer belly unfortunately even though I'm riding a lot and don't eat much. I was never a skinny dude, always more on the bulkier side. I got some Rapha Lightweight Core jerseys in size L (navy) and XL (black). Regarding comfort XL works better for me, but I'm not used to tight cycling gear (I know this is actually club fit already). However the XL is so loose that my phone in the back pocket doesn't feel stable. I'm afraid size L is too tight. So I'm stuck… I would really appreciate hearing some opinions on this. Thanks in advance!

The XL is definitely too big. You can see how the sleeves are loose, they’re supposed to be snug all around.

    2. Sleeves are definitely slack on both, black one is definitely too big but the rest looks alright – but I can see where you have extra fabric like in your shoulders and mid section where you might just be between sizes. Cuffs on your shorts look a little bit slack (especially when your leg is extended), but it might be the angle. But it doesn’t look to me like they make full contact with your legs. Have you tried any other brands? I think for your phone situation, you could consider bib shorts that have cargo pockets. But yeah it looks like the blue one is the best but .5 size too big.
