We saw him climbing the scenic Alpe D’Huez in a city bike, so now it is time to see him go down it in that very bike!

Do you think Hank really reached 65kmh-70kmh on that bike? π
πHank , we want to see next downhill ride..
The day Hank became a trained Professional π€£
Hank is cheating. That bike needed rim brakes. THAT would have been a show.
This is the first year out of 7 in a row that I've not been out to Alpe d'Huez – recovering from a broken ankle π
Love the video!
Hank, you're a pro, sure, but what safety precautions have you taken? π you're just riding a city bike behind the camera man's motorbike π
@hank you nutter! ππππ
Can we give mr feather a go on this bike? π
Seeing as Hank and Blake are best buddies and Hank is now a bona fide MTBer, how about we get Hank dropping in on a World Cup DH track and we get Blake dropping in on the Alp or one of the other classic descents? I know Blake climbed the Alp (I think it was Alp d'Hues) but I don't think he has dropped in on a 100kmh descent. Come on GCN let's see it!
What I love about Hank is his commitment to every bit. The video calls for some shenanigans and he actually gives it a good shot. Fair play, James. Fair play.
didn't some madlad take a boris bike there a while back?
This is just like my riding my 100kg arse everywhere
Hank could do a collab with Redbull at this point
I remember when Bas Tietema tried this with an omafiets and the brakes started smoking on the descend π
MAD LAD for paddeling
I wouldn't try that, if they paid me. On any bike.
I'd like one o them fancy bikes…
That's nuts
"I'm a trained professional, so hold my beer"!
bloody hell, hank!!
at least you had a bell
Can you do that on a unicycle?
Can you or should you? Those are two wildly different questionsβ¦
Descending on a unicycle would be interesting.
Could have been worse: GCN could have made him use a penny farthing, like the time they almost did Hank in on the velodromeβ¦
More seriously, I would love to see this done on something like a pre-War Raleigh Record Ace, or its immediate post-War version. I know there was a GCN film with Mark Beaumont about Tommy Godwin, but Godwinβs teammates on the Sturmey-Archer team (Sid Ferris, Bert James, and Charles Holland) were stupendously great too. Retracing some of their routes, on a period bike or a re-creation (like Siβs Eddy Mercx bike) would be an awesome test for Hank. For that matter, it would be interesting to see if Si and Ollie can beat the 25 and 50 mile time trial numbers put up by the S-A team, Bert James in particular.
That's not a city bike that a garbage rental bike, one of the worst bike you could ride.
Does it even have brakes? I don't see a brake rotor or a rim brake caliper. Could someone enlighten me
"All the safety precautions" is wearing a 3/4 inch thick polystyrene hat and a camera for posterity π I love this sport.
If the bike doesnβt have any gears, why is the right handle looking like a grip shifter for hub gears? Decoration, or not working?
Hank the Tank is always bulletproof!!!!
Slam the seatpost, stop whining.
I am waiting for them to implement a welcome message like: Hi, I am Hank. Welcome to GCN… Would kind of fit with these videos. Good the dude survived, even though he at least didn't get the worst city bike ever…
It definitely seemed sketch, but he seemed to enjoy that much more than the ascent.
I'm dying ππππ
It's very dangerous because he is riding his bike on the wrong side of the road.π³
Hank: oh man the brakes are sketchy AF
Also Hank: can we do 70??
Stay alive mate.
Haha riding lide a madman in my beloved Alps. I rode from London to Richmond and back on a Borris Bike though!
Can you descend Alpe dβHuez on a Citi bike? When youβre Hank you can do anything.
Do another famous climb and descent on a beach cruiser. 3 speed, coaster brake only!
Bonkers ! Hank is just bonkers !
Excellent work as always, Mr. Tank. I wonder how a BMX bike or full sus MTB would fare
Well, I guess it's time for kinda the same (up and down, of course) with one of those unicycles or whatever they are called? 1 wheel etc. And then I guess, a tandem? Or a quad tandem?
Afterwards Hank cooked the whole film crew a full English breakfast on those poor drum brakes π₯π³
ζ©ζε车ε¨θ±ε½π
Next you need to try to descend Alpe D'Huez on Shane / @stuffmadehere 's record smallest bike. π
I would not even attempt this with out motorbike leathers
Hank – Hold my beer…
Hanks getting my vote for Sports Personality Award this year. Mental decending.
Hank please try Omafiets next time.
3:59 A still frame of Hank in this position on the city bike would make an awesome poster π
