The problem with Derby, as a Derby resident, is that it's not really a city. "City" to me is Manchester, Liverpool, London, Birmingham heck… even Nottingham. Derby is just a town with a large shopping centre and that's basically it (don't get me wrong, it's a very nice shopping centre, but a shopping centre nonetheless).
5:10 fun fact, lara croft was inspired by Indiana jones but they wanted to make the character different so they made it a girl, no other reason really.

Respect. The three of you have posted a balanced review. There are worst parts of cities all over the UK, much the same as the US. But you guys have produced a genuinely good review. So…..would you go back?
If you want pikelets or Derbyshire oatcakes you would need to go to a proper independent bakery, not just a chain store. Probably lots of the artisan bakers are not open on Sundays.
As a guy born in and growing up near Nottingham (and being a Forest fan) I am obliged to hate Derby HOWEVER…. There is no way Derby is the worst UK city haha, I’ve been to quite a few in the UK (and all in the midlands) and I’d happily rank two of the other major midlands cities of Leicester & Birmingham as “worse” (Notts is obvs the best though come on)

People who makes these sneering 'worst cities/towns in the uk…' lists usually come from London. They are generally just bitter that there are places where you can earn a decent wage and not live in a shared house with 7 other people. They either haven't visited the actual places or are the sort who get off a train for 10 minutes and judge the place based on what they see at the station.
