A couple killed in a horror crash between a motorcycle and a car which left six people, including two children, dead have been described as loving and caring parents by their son.
On Tuesday, West Yorkshire Police named Christopher Barton, 56, and Janine Barton, 48, as the couple who were on a motorbike that was in collision with a Ford Focus on the A61 just north of Barnsley on Sunday afternoon.
The family in the Ford – Shane Roller, 33, his 30-year-old partner Shannen Morgan and their daughters Rubie and Lillie Morgan-Roller, aged nine and four – were also killed in the crash, near the village of Mapplewell.
Mr Roller and Ms Morgan’s third daughter was not in the car. A gofundme page set up to help support the 11-year-old had reached £280,000 by Tuesday afternoon.
A police spokesman said Mr and Mrs Barton had recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
In a statement issued through the force, their son described the couple as “a loving, caring mum and dad who always put me before everything else”.

How could this accident possibly have happened on an "A" road?
I was thinking police would be better to make animations of all real bad accidents on the road ànd show them to the people,whit excplanation why thi happend and how should be prevent .This could be best educational .
Very sad and a tragic waste of life but the scene pictures show a possible high speed overtake maneuver of a vehicle towing a caravan but in a really inappropriate slight bend location and in no way place the blame on the oncoming motorcyclist and pillion passenger
It was South Yorkshire police & not west Yorkshire police who attended this tragic incident.

At last. It seemed like it was only the family in the car who mattered up to now. Most of these collisions involve the car driver at fault. Let's see.
I live in lincolnshire. Bikes always speed. If you drive at 60 then the bike will always overtake. My small village is a mile of almost straight 40mph road and ive seen bikes and cars hit 80 plus when they have the chance. Police blue light thru at 100 . Madness.
This is why i will never ride a bike know your limitations people!

No visible police presence on the roads…back in the day there was a jam sandwich around every corner..now they only appear afterwards …sick and tired of the antics of drivers on the roads…those poor kids gone…shocking
