I bought this bike (trek emonda S 6 2016). I wanted to buy a bike to commute and improve my endurance. I got this one for £419(it is secondhand). I love this bike, I have owned a (montra)MTB. I love how this road bike is fast. the seat is a bit rusty, it has the old garmin sensor for speed and cadance and the duotrap sesor is not working and has evidence of being used for 2 years. It has a tiagra groupset and hence couldn't find online, so I just has some questions?
1)is this a good purchase?
2) Is there any important mandatory upgrades that needs to be done on this cycle?
I will be buying a cycling jersey (although I have a speedskating skinsuit it is a one peice lycra) and a cycling shoes too.

Best option is to take it to a bike shop for a proper tune up and see if there is anything wrong with it or needs adjusting. Seeing if they also recommend any adjustments based on your height without getting a full bike fit.
The Tiagra groupset isn’t the best but it’s doable as long as it’s tuned well. Price isn’t terrible but it’s not a steal by any means.
