Clearly target to US Americans. Any videos targeted to other parts of the world?
It sounds petty but to me Germanies love for paperwork really makes sense.
Well i'm glad working in germany change you. But living in germany really didn't work out too well for my ancestors
I'm German and I agree with most of it. But it's not true that Germans print everything. My first day at my new job I didn't find any sheet of paper or a pencil/pen. Everything works digital.
Of course you take all your annual leave! What kind of freak would leave annual leave untaken?
I believe Germany has a number of well-known health retreats and spas to cater to all those vacationing employees.
No one said Gesundheit 😮
Lol. And very strict immigration laws for technical positions. Oh, and 50 percent income taxes and massive sales taxes.
U.S. here. Union job. Right now I get 12 Holidays that I can take whenever, plus 15 vacation days (3 weeks). Also 120 hours of sick leave to accumulate throughout the year. In addition to various reward days (like for doing a PT test, or not calling in sick for a 6 month period.)
Additionally, we are given the opportunity to take “compensatory time” instead of OT if we so choose, but that caps at 240 hours (30 workdays). I’m capped out on that as well.
Additionally, you can carry over a week of vacation a year (caps at 6 weeks). And the longer you’re on, the more vacation they give you. Next year I’ll bump up to four weeks (20 days) of vacation time, and eventually can get 6 weeks a year.
It’s nice to be able to take time off here and there, helps with burnout. America needs to get back to more union jobs, especially in service sectors.
which is ?
Everyone asks you questions and makes you feel Like the worst Person om earth when you call im sick…you cant compare one Office Jobs in Berlin to everyone elso outside of Offices who really has to do actual Work ….
Why do Germans complain so much and are so grumpy, if they supposedly have it so good? You really can’t please some people.
I have 41 days right now that I don't know what to do with. I have so much vacation. US worker.
Been lving in Germany for a while now and I love it here!❤
The thing about germans is their is one way it can be done and all will do it that wa. And when thwy work with english you know they can see how inorganised we are in comparison.
What was said at the end of this
Hi
Legal minimum is 24 weekdays!!!, 4 weeks!!!, if you work only on 4 days in a week you get only 16 days.
It is stupid to talk about 20 days if you don't tell how many days someone works in a week. If someone works 6 days it is 24 days, if less, the days shrink.
So be carefully what's standing in your contract, must be business days, not only days.
24 days are only 4 weeks, 24 business days are almost 5 weeks. Small difference!
You’ve got a Scottish accent, you get all the same things here 😂
I hope you know how to use a fax machine, like the rest of the developed world did in the last century!
ich bin schnell
How did the vacation days surprise you if you are British? The range of days seems similar to the UK.
Good vedeo 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

NEVER go to work when you'r sick in german, even just a little cough 😂
As an American, i cant relate. The companies here abuse us, force us to work overtime or else we’ll get fired and give us no time off (maybe 5 days off a year if your lucky and 10 days off if ur part of the lucky 25% of people)
Great video. That’s how all the people with the right work ethics want to live in Germany. Keep in mind she is exaggerating. You can be fired as well when your sick leave rate is suspiciously high. There are several legal ways to „let go“ of employees.
Yeah everything that’s coming out of Germany seems like it would be terrible living there with those people. Not a good idea outside of engineering
That applies all over Europe
She needs to take a couple of days off for her sore throat.
Germans are a lot more honest than Americans.
I don’t feel guilty in the US for taking time off. That’s just you
The US has a better economy for a lot of reasons, but one is simply because people here work harder. Typical German L

Try being a PhD student
So she's an expat if you moved there make sure your a citizen there and renounce your us citizenship because you made your choice live with it no backup have fun when the Russians invade
