welcome on day five of our bike touring trip through [Music] Sweden today’s rude again takes us along a narrow and bumpy hiking trail we have figured out that the orange arrows we occasionally follow are part of the SC hiking trail [Music] the SC Trail is an extensive network of hiking paths in scorner the southernmost province of Sweden where we are now the entire Trail spends a whopping 1,300 km something to come back for when we have a lot of time on our hands [Music] w [Music] We R on an information board a few days ago that cycling on this hiking trail is not recommended we’ve already figured that out ourselves the wi parts are fine to write but the single tracks are often overgrown and Rock with Fallen trees occasionally blocking the path luckily it’s manageable here and I actually find it a pleasant and beautiful section to bike through [Music] oh [Music] [Music] in addition to the orange arrows we also frequently see orange ribbons hanging in the trees beside the path featuring an Al image and the word Yak later we also see blue and white ribbons these ribbons have nothing to do with the SK hiking trail the internet tells us these ribbons Mark hunting areas the Swedish word Yak means hunting in English the ribbons are apparently used to indicate where hunting activities are taking place and to Mark areas where Hunters are active different colors indicate different functions or areas such as permitted hunting zones forbidden zones of various types of hunting such as big game or small game hunting but the ribbons mainly serve as a warning for passes by like us to be cautious however we haven’t heard any gunshots or seen any Hunters yet but we have seen plenty of deer and hairs while the elk continue to stay well hidden perhaps they have seen the ribbons too [Music] since our brand new power bank is unexpectedly completely empty we decide to have lunch in the village of Emma bord where we can recharge everything at this time of day we only find a Turkish restaurant over open we order a kebab roll expecting it to be a small T ideal for a light lunch we expect a simple tortilla like row with vegetables and some meat but we underestimate the cooking skills of this Turkish Chef he makes the Brad pancakes himself and they are not only incredibly delicious but also incredibly oversized the well filled rolls don’t even fit on our plates I can only manage half a row but they are so delicious that we quickly agree to take the leftovers and have them for dinner tonight this way I’ll have my hands free for something else as the camp cook he [Music] look I get to perform my Camp cook duties sooner than expected not much further we find an excellent wind shelter that isn’t even on the detailed maps of the Swedish n cartan website yet the shelter seems brand new and oh so beautiful we shrug and hit the Android button on our by computers this trip doesn’t have to be a grueling test we are here to create memories to enjoy whim starts a fire on the fire pit while I begin the task I’ve been looking forward to the entire trip baking fresh bread over a campfire I knead the dough in a pot and let it rise in the same pot beside the fire later the dough ball goes into another pot that has literally with many fires evident from its blackened [Music] exterior whim places the pot in some hot Co and adds more hot Co on the lid so it bakes [Music] evenly after a good half hour of baking we unveil an almost perfect loaf of bread the campire is so cozy that we almost miss the beautiful sunset over the lake luckily we catch it just in time before the sun disappears Over the Horizon [Music]
