[Music] welcome to day 38 we’re just packing up a very wet tent didn’t rain but the Jew it was just soaked this morning and we didn’t manage to find a particularly Sunny Spot [Music] there’s a tunnel coming up is it like a canal go for a tunnel cool there’s a waterfall at the other end foreign [Music] cycle through it [Music] so pretty through here it’s a really nice day Cliff’s up there [Music] so high up on the cliff over there we’ve got a lookout tower just spy on the Marauders that are coming up the river to attack the town that’s up ahead so when you see someone they set light put lots of dump burning stuff up there that starts the smoke and they can see it over in the town and be prepared we’re coming into another town in about 13 kilometers it’s really nice through here the temperatures just dropped about five degrees though it’s like a Gorge starting to get that kind of feeling of Austria Switzerland now they’re not far [Music] we’re not far from the town of the songkong I’m not sure how it’s pronounced it’s best I can do it’s probably the prettiest right I’ve ever had into a town into a city foreign the hill over there the city walls impressive sight you’d have to climb the cliffs then to Traverse the wall if you’re invading [Music] I’m really hoping we don’t have to go up there [Music] so there’s a canal going through here as well that’s cool [Music] and then suddenly we’re on the other side of the Citadel just by going for that little tunnel glare we didn’t have to go out there geez so glad [Music] they started how is this like changing so they’re more like Swiss chalets and the cows have also changed from the white cows and you’re pointing down behind us from the right cows to Brown away cows but they don’t have the Bells on yet I’m waiting for the jingle jingle of bells to know Switzerland [Music] thank you [Music] so over these Hills here is Switzerland somewhere maybe about 30 40 K’s away [Music] to the left is it oh hang on is it up hit this up oh this is where it gets so confusing so many signs [Music] we’re definitely getting close to Switzerland we just heard our first cowbells can you hear them [Music] very picturesque through here they’re just camping at this lovely little spot in a little town called bomb desdain but yesterday getting here was a bit of a drama we got to the turn off where the camping should have been according to our Loire Valley route map we couldn’t find it on Google or the Garmin and we’ve had it before where the maps are quite old and we’re just wondering if the campground’s no longer there so we decided to head for a hotel but we ended up pushing up this blooming great big Steep Hill to get to the hotel it’s point out it was fully booked while we asked at the hotel and they said oh there’s camping two kilometers so the camping did still exist welcome to day 39 of our cycle tour what a beautiful day it is too not a cloud in the sky at the moment we’re really getting close to the Swiss border just leaving our campsite now it’s almost 11. foreign [Music] s flying over today you could see these ones sometimes we can see them sometimes we can’t they’re probably a far away to get a photo on my phone but I tried anyway [Music] I just love seeing them love the sound they make [Music] I love it when the scenery changes like this it’s just like you’re on a completely different cycle ride I think we’re going to be very close to Switzerland today about 13 kilometers from the border where we’re planning to stop [Music] we have for lunch I can’t speak French squash banana and squash baguette [Music] I was wondering why a tractor was driving down the canal they’re clearing out all the weed from the locks look at it all look at all [Music] thank you [Music] [Music] foreign be coming into a town of montbelliar which is 13 kilometers from the Swiss border so we’re getting closer there’s no camping there though which is a shame it’s going to find hotels I hope there’s something available be 60 kilometers by the time we get there [Music] welcome to day 40. we’ll be soon into Germany just leaving that lovely little town of Montville yard we stayed there last night in our hotel because there was no camping probably another 60 kilometers today and we’re going to mulus which actually in English looks like mole house foreign about 1500 kilometers so far there’s probably about halfway amazing to think we’ve just cycled across France I’ve been a new country tomorrow and that’s really exciting too but in Germany or Switzerland or something like that it’s quite nice staying in the hotel last night it was so comfortable the bed was so comfortable all the pillows all the pillow and the tent I’ve got all my clothes stuffed into a stuff sack and that’s my pillow and it’s lumpy as heck but and it changes every night and during the night it changes it shifts everything shifts but I still managed to sleep well on the tent but funnily enough are that comfortable bed and the comfortable pillow I woke up with a shocking sore neck this morning so go figure foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] our first sighting of the Alps over there in the distance which Alps were not sure over towards Lichtenstein [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] there’s a bell here and Mike’s too scared to ring it but I figure it’s fair to be rung surely this is an art project and it’s not going to call somebody down from the house which is what Mike was worried about so now he’s going to ring it proper [Music] foreign [Music] s along here I’m just wondering why they don’t eat Swan I think they’re gonna be a bit like turkey or Goose I don’t know you never see Swan on the menu [Music] we just come into the town of malus our time in France will soon be coming to an end it’s very sad I think tomorrow will be in Germany or Switzerland one of the other [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank you not sure what that is but I thought I better take a photo just in case it’s something important [Music] [Applause] [Music] who would paint their house purple

    1. what a cool adventure… I know the sadness of the approaching end to an awesome adventure… Very cool isn't it how you can ride into another country with it's own language and culture… Well done on the 1500km!
