I am looking to get into road cycling but will be also be doing some riding on smooth gravel trails and after research have decided to go with the Triban RC 120 Disc.

The bikes geometry is listed on the link above.

I am 190cm(6'2.75) tall and fall between the XL and L sizes for the Triban RC 120 from decathlon as it recommends 182-190cm for the L frame and 190-200cm for the XL frame. Today I also measured my inseam which is about 34.5 Inches (87.7cm), arm length about 29 inches( 73.7cm) from center of palm to rib cage and torso length from the floor to collar bone to be 61.75 inches (175cm). These are all self measurements so they may be slightly off.

From what I have seen online this bike has a fairly relaxed geometry so the website I have used for getting frame size in cm from inseam measurement seems to not apply to this bike.

Also I went into the store yesterday was told by an employee to try both. I rode both of them around the store but this was not much help as they felt similar and as I have never ridden a bike with drop handle bars before my posture on the bike was most likely incorrect while ridding. With the large frame it felt like I had to lean down more and with the XL frame I had to slightly lean forward more but not by too much.

From what I have seen online general advice is to size down. Though I have also seen if you have a larger wingspan to size up and my wingspan is about 3 inches higher than my height.

I was wondering if anyone could provide some advice on which frame size to go with. As well if you have this bike and were in a similar situation which frame size did you go with?
