this actually leads on very nicely to our next section where we are actually going to look at every single current bike in the men’s Pro pelaton for the tour to France and we are going to rate them as our favorite and least favorite for our big question of the week big question of the week caveat there are lots of bikes so this is going to be quick fire I want immediate thoughts give it a rating out of 10 and I will keep score you two are just going to do it to keep score um and then based on the scores we’re going to have top three bottom three everything in between weting out of 10 20 it’s 20 say 22 teams isn’t there yeah so go fast oh jeez you get 15 seconds on each one okay first up is the alasin deck Canyon aad CFR this is exactly the one that Cameroon Mason we’ve seen this before it’s like a purple flip isn’t it such a good paint job I rid in one of these it’s it’s wicked it’s a really good bike good prices love it um eight out of 10 I’m going to to give it 7 out of 10 because the saddle is the sell thingy saddle that you like that’s got red on it for no reason whatsoever oh minus one yeah seven yeah yeah yeah next up is M Star which is the same bike but a completely different color scheme it’s like a Navy speckle uh same branding on it up close I think this look like in person I reckon this bike looks great in pictures it just looks black um so I’m going to mark it down one because it’s less noticeable it’s a bit more boring so I’m going to give it six six third is the UAE team embance colnago V4 RS With Envy Wheels I should love this bike however I don’t because the paint Scheme on it for me is about 10 years out of date and it’s just boring traditional caros I’m well in like the old Rim break ones this one just not quite doesn’t do anything for me paint jobs boring uh it’s getting five which is not bad five is in the middle this is this is do to be yeah five doesn’t mean bad neutral five is a specialized venge a black specialized venge right next is you can go through this one uh we got theana Kazakhstan Vila filante and zeros SLR because they look very similar um one’s the arrow one which is good for climbing and one’s the climbing one which is good for Arrow same the same is this the bike you have you’ve got one of these uh not in the picture there so that I I’ll send Emily a picture that she can Flash up of the seat clamp on the Zer SLR which is a beautiful bike everything on it is basically perfect the geometry on it is great the paint job of these is best in the pelaton I think but the seat post clamp is minus four points what so six out of 10 so it’s six yeah phanto is all right is better but the yeah sorry it’s for me it’s one of those ones that like again if it’s in front of you I think it’ll look absolutely great but it’s just all all the beautiful detail is lost and then from a distance you actually end up with a relatively boring bike and we can’t rate but it’s worth mentioning the New Vertical is now released as of today filming this podcast you’ll probably see the estana versions of the vertical which is basically the Zer SLR but they fix the seat post clamp and we have a video that will now be live which will now be live GRE green thumbnail check it out fantastic bike I’m going to give that five out of 10 because from a distance it just looks boring of close it looks beautiful though can I know I’m not a part of this but I think that paint job is incredible can I add a a discretionary plus one you’re like the Umpire okay fine cuz I think you’ve been just you’re but if the Umpire was part of the mafia you could just change it next up we got gr Palmer fdj their bikes are the same model of bike they’ve got Phil anes they’ve got zero slrs from Vila the paint job is white and blue just very French it looks like someone just kind of smudged it like there was a bit of like blue paint and then they’ve kind of smudged it all through I’m not I’m no I don’t like I don’t like the paint job it’s great bike bad paint job four out of 10 I’m going to give it five out of 10 next up we have the inos grenadiers pinell Dogma F we also have a video on this bike which was the first first look video that we did we know that bike is fantastic yeah yeah yeah I don’t hate the paint Scheme I don’t love it better in person than it is in a photo yeah in that room where they we saw one we weren’t allowed to write that one but they had it in the I think it looked pretty decent I like that they haven’t put Amber wall tires on it which is just all of the rage it’s it’s good I’m going to give that a wiggly seven out of 10 give I’ll give it six then we have ARA B&B hotels two bian used to make beautiful bikes and for some reason they’ve decided to start making not beautiful bikes so yeah it’s a two out of 10 for me yeah two yeah I’m going two as well biane they’ve got like a very loyal support in they stick to their Celeste thing and if you if you get it you get it and if you like it you like it and I don’t think it’s a bad thing in terms of branding there’s definitely other bikes in the in their range which should look fantastic lose one looks brilliant I love that bike she’s got a pink biane with black logo on it it’s all one color and it looks Wicked it’s not trying to be arrow and bit sticking out that is not the same fair enough it’s almost like it’s a different brand uh the team DSM Scott foil looks like a white fra and I love the I love the Scot foil that’s here it’s all black this is a white frame with some stickers stuck on it yeah and I think the Kit’s pretty similar to that isn’t it it’s got like kind of weird circles and guitar picks on it it was just boring but I guess it will based on all of the other bikes in the Pelon it’s a very whiteed bike and therefore it’s probably noticeable I guess that that’s a plus I wish it didn’t have Tam walls uh the lugger I don’t like the colors five out of 10 go four viz M Lisa bike seado R5 disc and S5 Models All right so the S5 is a very oddl looking bike I don’t particularly love it although Chris Miller is fantastic cuz the color uh the hexy pattern that they’ve had previously I’m not a fan of Chris Hall used to have one of those bikes I’ve seen it in the flesh just not a fan the new design is sick but copied but ripped off due to plagiarism I’m going to give them one out of 10 um yeah there’s a lot of thing reasons to not be uh I give it a six okay next inter Mar one two I like how you put this one straight straight in after so the cube light and air c68 X um the one that the previous bike ripped off because they got ripped off and I’d like to try a cube because lots of people speak really highly of them especially because they’re known for good value I’m going to give this bike eight out of 10 oo seven for me for originality although the graphics on the wheels are just way too aggressive bin Victorious so it’s the Merida reacto it actually looks all right looks uh old school do you know what I’ve actually worked out it looks like someone said we should probably put some color on this bike but not too much it’s unspectacular it’s it’s fine Mar it’s getting a five from me um yeah five works for me as well right 10 out of 10 10 out of 10 wait introduce this yeah calm down so team total energies Envy melee melee I’ve seen this bike in the flesh I’ve seen all of the new mvy bikes in the flesh they look fantastic I love how stealthy The Branding is the actual consumer one is better than this because it doesn’t have the mvy logo on the down tube and it’s just nearly all black and that’s why I would love to have one but I would never pay the money for it uh the Envy wheels are just iconic the classic black wheels with the three logos on it when they spin it just looks amazing that is a banger of a bike especially cuz they haven’t gone and over hogged slamming loads of branding on it for where we are in this list of 22 bikes I’m giving that 10 it’s get it’s 10 for me as well but there’s a brilliant piece of branding my Mafia rule is coming into Force again because I think that is so overrated by both of you you saying they haven’t slapped loads of logos all of it all over it the six logos just on the wheels just on that side of the wheels yeah but have you not seen them spinning they look so sick and if that wasn’t an Envy logo you would be making that a two because it’s there’s no originality there it’s literally just a black frame with AIT how their logo everyone knows the wheel logos should be placed three times on the wheel so when they spin they look amazing and not a single other bike has that okay well I’m deducting one Mafia point there because I think that you you are I think that’s overrated if it wasn’t Envy on that logo you’d be saying that is basic that looks cheap where it’s overrated is when you find out the price of that bike well yeah I’m sure I’m sure yeah and and and it might ride horribly I have no idea um EF education easy post canondale Super 6 Evo I want to rate this really really highly because they are constantly trying to make cycling exciting with the way they ride with how they and style stuff I’m a big supporter of it and for that reason I should probably downgrade the team total energies because they’re not doing that I’m going to give this bike also a 10 out of 10 10 wow uh I’m going to give it an eight I have preferred previous iterations of the EF bikes I have as well but I I’m I’m I’m weighing in with what they’re doing for cycling and letting that influence me um um right so Lotto Destiny Ora Orca I don’t know if it’s this picture or the bike but that picture looks sick profiles on it are nice I I think it looks like that that’s actually a bike I look at and go I’d like to have a go on that actually no I don’t not me I give that five straight down the middle it’s just a bike I’m going to give that a seven out of 10 I was going to seven and a half but I wanted to keep it simple for the calculations I can count in5 five of a decimal place oh excellent team Jo alula the giant Propel Advanced SL so this paint job is silvery base with a blue flash two red bits on it a yellow bit on it a light blue very big logos on the wheels a giant giant logo on the down tube if you’d described that to me I would have said it was horrendous but looking at it right now I I do want to ride that bike I was hoping you to say looking at it right now it actually is horrendous because it is yeah but it goes so horrendous it goes back around the scale and becomes good it doesn’t that is eight out of 10 that that is probably my bottom of the list your bottom of the list was a one so we’re giving this one zero I’m happy to give it zero okay fine next Uno X Mobility the Dare VA now we’re into zero that’s like you know when you go on AliExpress but you go too deep and you end up on the weird bits with like just horrendous monstrosities that are going to oh just is horri horrible what is it you don’t like about it the bike okay it’s got a huge I don’t even know what that piece is called uh it’s it’s the head tube I can see why you’d be confused by that cuz it almost doesn’t well it’s it’s not a tube it’s like a a slab yeah it’s the head slab they’ve just left the clearly it’s a it’s a very fast bike big head slab weird handlebars but original original what’s original about it it looks not like the others well if if you just look look at the back end of it it’s a specialized yeah it’s an old venge on the back end Francis rating zero zero zero Jimmy rating two because DT Swiss wheels are great okay little Tre so the new Tre Mone or not the Mone we don’t actually know what it’s called yet um spotted at the I can never say this Criterium tooran that one yeah Criterium to doofan I quite like little Trek I quite like the design of their kit it stands out it’s Unique uh I’m there’s some I’d like to ride some tracks because I look at them and I go I do not want to ride that bike which makes me want to ride it to see if I’m wrong just blew my mind but it looks like they’ve just designed something just to be stupidly different and actually it’s going to be dogs but it’s probably actually really good so I’d like to have a go on some of these tracks looks like that old uh look 695 or 795 you know they used to do that mreal kind of looking get your finger and put it over the picture where you’ve got the bottom of the seat post and the weird bit and all of a sudden you actually have a really traditional looking like it’s like a bike from like 10 15 years ago but in a good way instead of having the hole in the back yeah and all of a sudden it’s like that is a banger of a bike I want that well you don’t like this the cut out no I think it’s I I I don’t I I it seems unnecessary it seems like they’re just trying to make something look unique rather than it actually being functional give it a six I like the color scheme I’m I’m going to give it seven sudal quick steps s Works sl8 looks like a Galaxy really good tan wall tires they’re the specialized like cotton turbo cotton to me it looks color of tan a blue bike where someone’s had a go it with a brro that’s no more that’s you know that’s four out of 10 for me I think it’s a well it’s definitely better than a five it’s going to be a six B um down one five it’s five Jimmy one up five so I’m five out of 10 Premier Tech so that’s the factor ostram vam it’s it’s like a team Sky bike from years ago that’s not up Pell yeah that’s a four four yeah I’m with that I’ve seen some good factors but that’s not one kodus look 795 blade RS there’s something about this one especially I think it’s the wheels I’m the opposite I think if you if you took the branding off of those wheels that would be a 10 out of 10 bike for me no but the Kima are there there’s like um they’re just classic well yeah they might be good but it’s like you say if there was three if there was three logos on that wheel it would look great yeah three logos three logos change the white bar tape to Black and that is a 10 out of 10 bike that’s high though I’m giving I’m giving it eight as it is I’m going to give it eight as it is yeah yeah oh it’s got look cranks as well that’s cool so the cathon ag2r they have a van R RCR Pro we should declare our interest in this have once been sponsored to talk about this yes so we have to give it a three sorry um I you I haven’t ridden this bike you’ve ridden it and you said it’s actually a really really good bike it’s a good value bike the color scheme they’ve ended up going with I think is terrible um I’d much rather have seen them on just like a single color like all black or all or blue it would just be nicer um as a result of that oh I I give four I was going to go with four yeah you guys you want so your favorite is basically just a plane black bike the Envy one you want the f r want to be all black I’ve never even owned I’ve never owned anything by Envy I’ve never ridden anything Envy I don’t think except for yesterday for the first time I can’t afford Envy could never afford him okay the scores top three first in at number three with 16 out of 20 is the cofidis look 795 blade RS very good yeah uh plain black bike then number two with 18 out of 20 it’s EF education easy post Cannondale Super 6 evil that’s not a plain back bike that’s the opposite that is the opposite but you did not mark it on the bike you marked it on the fact that you like what EF is doing for cycling that’s fine okay and at number one with 19 out of 20 it’s another playing Black Bike it’s total energies Envy melee good now for the bottom three well done Jimmy well done third worst uh with seven out of 20 is visma Lisa bikes SLL marked down for plagiarism uh number two is four out of 20 the Arca B&B hotels biani bian we should have marked them down even more for having hotels in their team name B&B bed and breakfast hotels and your least favorite bike of the pro pelaton with two out of 20 is the Uno X Mobility dare VA I think we’ve summarized it all fantastically yeah to be honest that’s an all black bike that is an all black best and our worst bike is an all black bike y so fair
