Any secrets to keeping shifting running smoothly with these? I’m getting a lot of mis-shifts and skips. I’ve tried using Tri-Flow, Park Grease, chain lube and it works for maybe a day, but then goes right back.

They basically suck and are sus on bikes past the friction era, despite some nice bikes and framebuilder-level BB shells being made with them.

The best bet is liner taken from a shift housing. You can buy something similar, but it’s a hassle. To extract it from a housing, take a sufficiently long piece, say 12″, and with a razor make a slit down the length of it. Wear eye protection and whip the slit end hard against a hard surface. It will blow apart and you can take the liner from it.

You could take apart a v-brake noodle and use the plastic sleeve inside?
