When I used to cycle to work I'd coast past guys on bicycles like that, although only because I had a road bike with big gearing and thin, rock hard tyres.
Either way that’s a pedal assistance bike as he still keeps pedalling to keep up the speed, same as a normal bike by with some help, there is nothing wrong with it, dude in the car may be jealous as he avoids traffic while he it’s stuck on traffic. It’s healthy to ride a bike while driving a car doesn’t give you anything else than stress and problems. Happy ride everyone.
