    yeah we’ve done it we worked exactly what we wanted to do um how we built the team what we done my equipment like every little detail is been kind of put towards spe specifically today you know said t would be nice to Sprint [Laughter] but thank you because you see what that means you see what it means like okay doesn’t mean where they’re going to be top in the UCI rankings or anything but to France is bigger than CCL isn’t it

      Spare a though folks for Quick Step Alpha Vinyl Team Manager Patrick Lefereve for picking Fabio Jakobsen over Cavendish as their sprinter for the 2022 Tour saying
      Mark Cavendish has been a great sprinter but he is no longer a part of our project picking Jakobsen our man of the future!
      So Mark's spent 2 years almost in the wilderness with injury but Astana stuck by him and will reap the rewards and success of having him in their team!
      Congratulation Mark and well done Astana for providing this final opportunity to another of Britains great Cyclists of the early 21st Century ….. Wiggins, Froome, Thomas, Hoy, Kenny and Cavendish 🇬🇧

      So proud and thankfull for Cav, he never stopped trying, now he can just be proud of his work and thankful to vino. I always believed in you cav and certainly will. Enjoy your time at the TDF ❤

      As a German I am not friend of the English sportsmen, caused on history and the everlasting competition between both narions…..But beside of this, Cavendish is right now and forever a legend. Greatest respect from Germany !!!

      Smart move by Astana, they don't have any chance at the tour but now it's in the history book that Cav won his most wins with them that's solid

      So the first few stages of throwinf up and acting sick were a bluff lol. He powered to the record win. Im stoked for him. Now, time to withdraw from the race abd let your team focus on other goals. And retire. Please retire asap

      Gotta be impressed… I wasn't so sure about taking the record given Mercyx won all types of stages, but the way Cav won yesterday after a few days of suffering he earned it.

      39 years old!!!!! Let this be a lesson to people: you're never too old to achieve HUGE dreams!

      Everyone was throwing shade on Cav saying he should retire and that he was "washed up".

      Today, Cav shut up all of the haters with his legs.

      What a perfect day in cycling and in the history of the Tour de France.

      Chapeau, Sir Cav!!! Super proud of you!!!
