    This channel combines my two passions, cycling and photography/videography. I have been riding for 5+ years, but inspired by my son who completes nationally in triathlon I have decided to do some cycle racing.
    As well as racing cyclocross I plan to race MTB and some local crits. In 2016 I was diagnosed with Coeliacโ€™s Disease, I am also lactose intolerant. This does present some issues when trying to fuel my longer rides as not all stops have gluten free options.

    I’m flagging a bit I am struggling anything to say yeah I’m knacked I’m not eating enough I can’t eat anymore 20 4 in the morning Minster on SE can only mean one thing chase the sun we’re all just waiting for the sun to come up there’s about 800 other walles here at 20 4 in the morning and we’re waiting for the sun to show its face over there in about 20 minutes but they start us off at half 4 had to get up at 3 so I’m a little bit sleepy and there’s a bit of rain about just a little bit of drizzle so I’m starting in me rain jacket could be too hot who knows we will see anyway getting ready for the start how far back just waiting to go here come the sun little orange do here he come that’ll be be us the rest of the day it’s last we’ll see of it well if you get it right if it gets in front of you you didn’t get it right where are you going we are off and some people have gone the wrong way already after 2 m so that w a good start for them but yeah we’re off everything’s good it’s dry no rain at the moment bit chilly little bit of a breeze head Breeze but it’s got headwind all the way we got our Southwest Westerly southwesterly all day uh does settle down a little bit after a couple of hours wind drops a bit and then looks like picks up towards the end but we will see anyway let’s see how the legs feel had quite a lot of rest lately this week stomach seems fairly settled which is good see how we go so I felt my group won’t G that quick to be fair they’re Doling at 14 we’re going to need more speed than that cuz we’re going to lose some through London so I’m chasing on to the uh next group we’re on the way next stop Western super mayare so little update 50 Mi done just gone past the breakfast stop I didn’t stop there cuz I’ve only paid for the basic package cuz I got my Swan supporting me Ben and Michelle we are support crew for Chase the sun me and Mom here um we are in we are at the first stop Wai to his car park dad’s about 10 mil away we are in view of him if you look around there he’ll be coming from over that way so we can we can see him we are ready waiting I’m meeting them at 84 so yeah I need to push on a bit now another 34 miles for my stop but I don’t feel too bad so I’m averaging 16.5 at the moment it’s dropped a little bit but that’s just going through the traffic lights the stop start in London so my current ETA is 20 5 but that will definitely go out a bit from there cuz obviously I’ve got to stop and stuff so I don’t expect to hold that at all but I’m happy with how I’m going I’ve had one bar one bottle of carbs suing up my hydration my water with my hydro tabs in so yeah I’m do trying to do my best I’m a little bit behind I think got my nutrition I’m going to whack a big gel in in a minute just to get me back on track um yeah it’s been pretty good so I’ve rode a lot of that chunk big chunk of that probably 30 m with a guy called Craig from hitchen so that was nice nice to ride with him we’re going at a good Pace side by side taking the turns a bit caught a through groups we’re on a nice group with three Lads but we needed a Wei stop so we had to stop lost them but never mind we’ll F some more I did come through a lot of groups at the start as you’ll see so uh yeah I did make my way through quite nicely early [Music] on anyway bit of a climb got to crack on give you an update when get to Richmond Park maybe see if we can see some [Music] deer that’s odd you’re on your average yeah I know but I think I’ve gone a bit hard well my legs are torched I’m not going to lie I looked at one point and you had uh for 2 and a half minutes you had a 202 W average and I was like what the hell are you doing anyway real hard man it was going well and it’s still going fairly well I’m just a little bit cooked I struggled to eat this morning I think first thing I just struggled to eat I couldn’t get food in you know what I mean no I’m right I’m right I’ve been for a we not long ago so I’m I’m good I think I’m going to uh and I’ve got 15 to the halfway stop Co for some food B A Bottle please changing set up he’s taking the front walk bottle off see a bit you’re like a rocket look let’s chase him so first Mee and point with the swan years done Ben and Michelle did a great [Music] job 85 in the bank and I’m off again legs feel a little bit better now got some food in got a hand roll in it’s SP all I could manage did get another gel in uh Red Bull so hopefully that’ll pet me up a little bit so I’ve now got 15 mil to the halfway checkin and then another 15 mil till I meet them again so let’s see if we can find some Wheels all right yeah we found somebody else keep finding more Riders legs are definitely feeling a bit better and I’ve found a wheel follow so hopefully this will pull me up to uh the 100 mile point so I’m going to get halfway and then I’ll give you an update so I’m 110 miles in I’m flagging a bit I am struggling my legs are sore little bit of cramping but I have been whacking in the salt tablets so hopefully that will get that under control the headwind is brutal today it’s constant uh did the say a 30 m stint between my last stop with the swanes to my next stop I did the first 15 a guy called Rod he was strong on the front I did some turns but man he was strong good lad he stopped at the uh halfway food stop I just did the check-in and kept going uh so at the moment I’m just trying to get to 115 mil so and then we’ll go from there but yeah struggling a little bit uh in fact I got stopped to do me talk but yeah yeah little bit tough this bit I’m struggling a bit but what am I in let’s of a look I’m at 107 so I’ve got 8 miles to go going to get my head down get the eight done but yeah this bit’s a bit tough I’ve gone quite hard quite early which I knew was a bit risky but I’m hoping I can get through this stage this little dip I got plenty of food going in I’ll get GED up when I see them again so uh yeah but it was always going to be tough and the headwind strong man strong it’s a good 15 18 M hour but we’ll see anyway I’ve not got the wheels to follow at the moment so I’m on me own but yeah let’s see if I can get this next dat done crack on get it done here he is that super cyclist what super cyclist how are you feeling that was a hard well you’ve just had to come up climbs a you yeah lot lots of lumpy pits I’ll tell you what I’ve Just Seen A bloke going that way just up there run the freaking TT bike yeah oh yeah Canyon TT bike his back must be in pieces that’s crazy you have a nice bu tough man I’ve been on my own I couldn’t hold those guys that come by I don’t know how much farther in front they are than me no they can buy me a while ago there was some in front of them I didn’t see them didn’t see them I saw a guy on a Time bike and then there was a guy another guy literally not that far ahead of you yeah oh they must have dropped off that group then cuz I’ve r with him I’ve rid with them in London oh okay but they stopped at the Gage so um trying get enough water in I’m not eating enough I can’t eat any all it’s horrendous yeah I’m think I’m still doing all right no you’re doing well you’re still on your average can your hold my pleas you’re still pretty much on 17 average you’re bang on you said 11:3 123 and you left behind you left L I was always going to be behind wer I now yeah left that’ll be two hours to the next one coming pass I was just saying well done and stuff giving them some encouragement oh yeah some of them looked a bit GL I was like come on cheer up you paid for this I saw that was the best thing on the sub course um at the top of the hill and said smile remember you’ve paid for this they had a thing at the top of the hill before you head off anything to say yeah I’m knackered what we at 116 so now I’ve got to get to 148 when Ben joins me so that’ll be all right I’ve just got to get through this next 30 2 hours 2 hours on the bike that’s it that’s all it is so that’s how I’ve got to think of it 2 hours riding now so yeah I’m going to get this two hours done dig around po them in me Little Feed Bag that helps yeah bik’s up everything’s going well I’ve got everything right I think um I was just trying to make sure I drink enough I’ve got me uh carbs so uh yeah I’ll be all night hopefully you’ll be fine just a bit bit tired that bloke above in the room above last night and kept stomping around still somebody else said they had a karaoke Then they slept at all bad them right I see you guys in a minute uh so uh 223 no yeah 2 to3 all right yeah good job maybe just before but see you Ling it bye bye not sure it think you did all this training just think of the enjoyment this is the fun bear hold on right yeah you let me see if this okay cool you good no that was the hard hardest bit it’s done though now yeah yeah if you just bump up you’re all right you’re all right right yeah yeah yeah I’m just stop get some stuff are you all right yeah yeah yeah yeah come mate so hard that I knew it would be block bloody Hil so bloody hilly up down up down up down oh was like my God salts so bloody bad top work that was horrendous that is the worst bit so far should I show you the best bit though it’s the best bit look how close we are look in the that the scape of the whole country look how close we are oh yeah we’re not far now are not far now look Western super May it’s on the map I don’t even have to zoom in that far just there we going to take this one bash out 26 miles I’m ready to go glasses means game face is on already look fast be fast I’m ready do some big pulls let’s go right just had another stop 148 mil in and uh that last 30 was proper tough proper tough luckily after about 15 I got with a couple of guys or one guy caught me and I got on his wheel and then we worked together and we caught another guy and then the three of us worked quite nicely taking turns because that was hilly block headwind Oh by far the toughest 30 I’ve done all day but uh yeah just stopped at 48 and now I’ve picked up my super domestic cheeky Ben he’s on the front so Ben’s getting in his uh 50 Mi of training for today straight over sort of to the right straight over uh and uh he’s uh leading me out I’m sure we’ll pick up some other people shortly probably looking for a good wheel yeah straight and then round to the right but yeah right anyway I’ve got to give him plenty of directions so uh yeah it’s uh tough now 57 to go kind of Target time at the moment is about 645 something like that but um that could uh end up being a little slower if we make it by 7 I’ll be quite happy but let’s see how we do this wind is a lot tougher than it’s been previous years as far as I’m aware so uh we’ll see how we go going over there around around and it won’t we got to do another 10 miles that’s all flatten downhill probably going be hard for me but um it’s just I’m thinking it ain’t that far for Mom to drive and get no well she’ll have to meet to the other side just to get more liquid yeah yeah so we’re done a stop before the major Hill and I’ve offloaded a lot off my bike so I now don’t have any bags frame bag’s gone top Tu bags gone battery pack I’ve only got one bottle I stripped everything else off save weight for the last bit just don’t need it anymore want to make the climb as easy as possible bed’s still on the front doing a great job pulling me along for a bit in the wind and uh yeah all’s good right let’s see what this climbs like then when we get there oh that is a big descent down cheddar Gorge forgot to start the camera never mind you caught the end of it some goats halfway down we to be careful of people walking everywhere but yeah couple of climbs left I think but yeah we’re nearly there so couple of Miles meet Michelle put something on I’m a bit chilly sun’s out but it’s a bit chilly now and then uh 10 miles into Weston nearly there chase the sun complete just made 7:00 on the dot but that was hard work during the last beer we were Motoring in at like 22 miles an hour luckily got me legs back after stuffing about two bars in gels all sorts just to get me to the Finish but all good so yeah all good all done time to get changed get some food and then we might come back and watch some more people come over so apparently I might have been in the top 30 but we’ll see she didn’t think many people have been but certainly well in the top 100 anyway which is much higher than I thought but we’ll see when the uh results go up later so first chase the sun Done For Me 3 days later I’ve put together the video now hope you enjoy watching it I certainly enjoyed taking part in the event fantastic event really enjoyed it would have liked to medal at the end little bit myth there was no medal got a sticker but I would have liked to medal after doing 205 miles hey my longest ride ever my longest ride this year before this was only 103 mil so don’t think you need to be an epic cyclist to take part in check this the sun anyone can do it with a bit of training I’m going to put another couple of videos up one going through the event bit by bit bits I think I did well bits I don’t think I did so well and another video showing my training how I put it together and how that worked for me and how I completed chase the Sun by 7:00 p.m. with my Longest Ride only being an hour 103 miles so     2. I did this cts, my friend got hit by a van in rochester and we lost 2 hours there(he ended up in hospital).
      My other friend also had agg with a tubeless tire.
      So we lost around 4 hrs total kn the ride.

      Ride time was 12hrs total was 16๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚..
      My friends ok, hopefully home from.hospital tomorrow ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž
