Bikepackin’ & Island-hoppin’ in Croatia🇭🇷

Cycling in Croatia isn’t easy! The coastal roads are busy with cars and trucks, the smaller roads are often quite steep, rocky and unpredictable. Summertime is here and this means that the is sun getting hotter by the minute, luckily we’re able to stop often for a quick and refreshing dive in the sea. To avoid the traffic we take ferries to the Croatian islands, such as Hvar, Ugljan and Mali Lošinj and stumble upon some adventure there. cobra um but it seems like it’s already shed his skin and the sun was a bit too heavy on it what does it taste like d candy what’s what flavor snake like those little frog candies oh yeah the fun from har yeah okay I’ll let you enjoy it [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] we just arrived toar uh quite a big island on the Croatian coast and I think it’s fair to say that we found it ourselves a camp spot this is the ocean and it’s even more blue in real life than I ever thought was possible and it’s funny because we were um waiting for a spot like this since the beginning of our journey um so that means we had to cycle about 50 days to find super nice spot underneath the Pines next to the Sea and we agreed that that are like the two best smells in the world combined so we’re very happy Nils is already exploring [Music] [Music] [Music] we are uh now just starting the day on this uh huge spider in fested path which is uh super beautiful but Neils has uh collected himself a weapon against the webs against the webs so let’s go it’s a bit funny when you cannot see the spiders on the camera and N is just acting like a complete uh but actually he’s doing the right thing we’re now back on some aspal road which was nice after the uh Spider infested Trail it’s not that we’re afraid of them but it’s just like not the best feeling to get like the webs in your face and all [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] a this path takes us on the water side but also through the water it’s a little bit hi B but it’s uh super beautiful and I don’t know if you can see but in the distance you can see the town of Pac which we’re heading now for our first coffee of the day while Neil is climbing this rock yeah there is a possibility that we’re no longer on the path but yeah whatever all the ways lead to [Music] [Music] about [Music] [Music] so PR Lexing [Music] when you can you should always avoid the big roads and take the single track I lost Wheels but it can’t be far cuz it’s a single track we are now uh in the little town of Pac um and we’re having lunch in this fake grassy patch um next to the supermarket next to the supermarket I want to start with something Neil’s got me it’s a little house and it’s called vava what dogs in Croatian say and it has vitamin C and it has little dogs inside I don’t know if you can see it but I’m I’m smitten and I have a drink I’ve always wanted to try some Croatian some Croatian pee Let’s see we saw it yesterday on the menu pee but now it’s it’s more clear uh what it is taste have a taste Fanta Fanta yeah so Croatian Fanta is called peepi for the rest we have some cumcumber some emal some little mayonnaise in a bag and for once a good bread with a crusty crust so um we’re going to enjoy and then hit further [Music] we decided to have a quick dive uh for some refreshments before Hing um a little part of the ride back into the mainland Mainland just not next to the seaside um yeah I’ll show you not bad Dy [Music] sh [Music] [Music] we’re just we’re done for the day we found this nice place in the woods to put our tents and got ourselves a treat crocodile peanut chips crocodil for me gets a nine out of 10 combo with a beer n out of 10 today is Neil’s birthday yay 35 years old we woke up at this spot it’s a bit funny cuz it looks like they’re making a new campsite but it’s not there yet so we got it for free uh we woke up to this uh heavy thunderstorm which was quite cozy we had coffee in the tent it’s one of our favorites um and now we’re going to head back to the mainlands to zadar and then there uh with two days for the pH phoh to the phoh to the ferry to Mali that’s exactly how you pronounce it [Music] n [Music] [Music] [Music] a [Music] here we are taking one of the last fairies to the last Islands in Croatia uh are you ready for a 7 to 8 Hour Journey on a boat as as ready as I can it’s going to be a whole day on a boat but we read somewhere that it’s so scenic that the time flies we’re going to stop at like an island two or three or four different Islands we’ll see um cycling will be for tomorrow [Music] [Music] for [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] today we cycled from Mali loin to the island of chis and it was a day full of ups and downs literally and figuratively spoken yes but we’re ending the day with a up not literally but figure relatively so it’s a down so it’s a down but it’s up you know okay yeah if you have a choice between fak and Adventures R always choose the that’s right a few uh evenings ago we started to have problems with the pole of our MSR tents our very expensive MSR tents uh and then um two days ago it finally broke um so yeah we tried to fix it but it was too much of a hassle and then we went to the diaton in zadar uh and we bought this beauty for 35 so this is going to be the ultimate test uh T Test um which one will survive longer Deaton 35 Ms um 600 plus EO so uh we send it the tent back home uh to see if we can get some new parts for it when we get back uh but for now it’s uh it’s just us oh yeah and I haven’t uh talked about the the beauty of this camping spot which we’re very happy about because the last um night in zadar we had a a Airbnb and it was super noisy so we were all stressed out um and now it’s just this there’s not even a dog barking um so yeah I think it’s going to be a a fairly good no of sleep [Music] [Applause] [Music] so most of the videos I film with the GoPro are of smooth downhills cuz it’s obviously much more easy to film when you’re sliding effortlessly down this is quite a big uh big ascent I started quite brave but then somewhere halfway I had to get off and walk as you can hear I’m a bit out of breath but I think one more kilometer of 10% uphill walking and then we’re uh there but there is not there cuz it’s still uphill after so who am I kidding [Music] so we’re on our last Ferry back to the mainland uh uh towards estria the last part of Croatia we’re going to cycle we’ve heard that it is going to be
