final day of the tour of Switzerland time trial time a discipline that had bookended the great race pensive time in the start house and the real battle we would have to wait until the very last to see whether Shia ARA would deny Adam Yates the title A Familiar Road starting off in AGA and indeed climbing once again all the way up to V two intermediate time checks along the way a total distance of just over 15 km flat at the beginning and then potential bike changes to take on the climb itself but a great Benchmark set by Steve Williams after englehart’s margin was just trimmed late on 3557 a huge Target would anyone be the equal of it well we saw some Stellar performances out there Damiana Caruso certainly one of those he really turned around a huge deficit at the first time check to climb magnificently and he was to sit in the hot seat for quite some time 3516 the new Target then Tom Pitcock by his own account has had a mixed time since coming out of altitude training it’s been a disappointing race Rim so far but he was out for victory in this time trial likewise Lenny Martinez the dommin Frenchman had a a tough day prior but I turned it round for the time trial and was wanting to show us exactly what might have been in this race Swift bike change for Tom pitcock as so many did exchanging the time trial machine for a standard road bike to take on the mountain test meanwhile the great battle that was soon to rage was starting to at least play out psychologically how would this be taken by Shia almea the penultimate Rider off the ramp away he went Adam Yates would be in Hot Pursuit an advantage of 31 seconds overall coming into the final day for Adam Yates over his teammate what he said he might well lose a minute out there would that be the case heer b now sporting the Mountain’s Jersey on behalf of Adam Yates who owns it a smooth change as well for him and a smooth run it seems back to form slowly but surely Egan berell is reapo in greatness and for that every one is grateful shiaa has proven on so many occasions that when the chips are down he goes all in finding something extra special very late on and he was to do so again today remarkable Rider likewise Adam Yates though and the battle was raging between the pair of them stunning performances by each but who would come out on top on the day indeed who would be the winner overall that was the big question well the answer sometimes comes us to those who can really find something extra when everyone else is really struggling Adam Yates looked very smooth on the bike shower made her always more rock and roll there were others though who wanted to prove something personally top pidcock was certainly one of those Lenny Martinez in the hot seat having taken it over from kuso po Sanchez a strong performance by him and not that far behind Sanchez with a second spot but Pitcock looked like he might just wrestle control from leny Martinez we didn’t think that many would get into the 34s and there were plenty of late Runners who were doing precisely that pidcock crossing the line superbly to take control rickell is a very powerful package I can tell you wo be tied anyone who takes him lightly when he rides the Welter later in the year Ricky the American battling for The Young Riders classification and shelm mo owner of it out to stop him snatching it at the last shelm Mo’s run looked absolutely unbeatable would he be the first Rider to be in the 33s absolutely Ricky his challenge snuffed out by the Dane was of course defending Champion coming into this race Egen bur now a warm glow to all cycling fans with this this performance a minute and nine down on Shellos but really getting back to his best at his best on more than one occasion Almeida and just look at this a stunning performance by him he had to be one if he was going to have a chance of taking the title would that time be beaten would the clock go red against Adam Yates he was into the hoarded section it was still green gavz almeida’s time would stand on the day but Adam Yates would be our champion what a battle what an amazing race it turned out to be well our thanks to everybody in this torto Swiss the organizers of course all the security around this fabulous race and of course the Riders themselves they gave absolutely everything until the very last Shoma taking the individual time trial ahead of Adam Yates who is our champion to stage wins a piece for the teammates in the end Adam Yates had more than enough to carry home the win so Adam Yates is the winner of the T of Switzerland his teammate sha Arma equal to him and bettering him on two occasions but there can only be one overall winner and it’s Adam Yates ala with the stage win two to to his name just like Yates what an amazing race we’ll be back again in your good company next time [Music]

    1. If the roles were switched during the first racing days, Almeida would have won that tour, really amazing performance by him. And thinking about TdF: Tadej's domestiques lead this GC table by 3 minutes… Insane

    2. Did anyone else notice that when the civilian/fan/Joe Public who held on to Adam Yates’ bike, he did the same thing that all non-cyclists do when they get close to a real bike?
He lifted it for himself to see how light it really is. 😅 “Oh wow! Weighs almost nothing.”

    3. The riders give their time trial bikes in the hands of the spectators while changing their bikes. I like so see that natural connection between riders and spectators… a reason why I like cycling so much!😎
