of commanders field where tonight the US Men’s National Team will be taking on the Colombian Men’s National Team in a friendly match and as we always do guys we’re going to go talk to the fans before the match after the match get their thoughts their reactions their predictions all of that now let’s get to it so I asked you this right what do you want to take I know it’s just a friendly match good competition you want to see a good performance you want to see just the result I mean what are you hoping to take away from this match as a fan playing the right system going to cope America in the summer you like the friendly sure you play here tonight you play in Brazil next week like you want to play the right system going into those games against Uruguay Panama and Bolivia I’m expecting us to lose this game but I want a good performance at least like in preparation for for KOB if there’s like some promising uh promising plays prom promising display then I could be okay with it I want to see a win and a convincing win against one of the top teams right really Colombia they’ve had a really good 21 game unbeaten streak they’ve beaten Germany Spain and Brazil and this is a statement match for the us we got a win show everybody that we’re ready to take on Copa America you know put a little bit fear in Argentina and Brazil’s hearts and get ready to win the World Cup nice lineup today I think us has a great opportunity to show they’re ready for Copa I’m hoping to see pich really direct that Midfield um I’m thinking 2-1 I think columia is going to give us a heck of a run though uh 20 I think 23 games undefeated is going to be a scary thing to sack up against but uh let’s come out of here with a victory I mean obviously we know Columbia’s coming in on a 21 game unbeaten streak but you know we’re just looking for the boys to compete get into form going into Copa America you look for our Young Generation to go play some ball today so should be some good things out there uh yeah just rooting for a Christian ptic goal um you know like obviously want to win but if we come out of this with a tie I’d be happy with that as well so tell me guys I want to know obviously it’s just a friendly but a pretty big opponent ride Columbia they’re on a hot streak as fans you’re coming here today what do you want to see is it a result is it a performance tell me how you’re feeling what do you want to see today performance it’s not just a friendly cop America’s coming up it’s real life uh so tell me what do you want to see today I really want to see Joe scall locked down the right back position instead of uh serginho Des we need somebody to fill in for him and I think he could be a solid candidate I’m looking for cardoso and seeing how he does with Tyler Adams being out that’s going to be very interesting we don’t have uh he’s he hasn’t played a lot this season so having a new six and playing really well in basis it’s going to be interesting to see how he plays is there certain players that you’re looking for like you want to see performance- wise you’re going to be watching extra closely any specific players on the team today yeah I want to see who the right back is that’s going to replace sergino Des that’s a big loss and I want to see our forwards be able to get up there mix it up and uh and uh show they can score some goals specific player our players you’re looking out for anything you want to see a big performance from giena baby get it going get it going cook with the sauce man I know you mentioned Joe scall right is there other key players you know the striker position maybe mixing up in the Midfield Johnny cardoso is getting a start today is there a certain player that you’re watching extra closely today cardoo is one balagan going to have to step up he hasn’t in the past for the US not recently at least going to have to see how he generates offense awesome any person particular yeah I think it’s going to be um balagan and also cardoo like you have those two if they play really well they can step in and uh hopefully get us to the quarterfinals or semi-finals for um this cup of America and then also the right back too like if Joe SC doesn’t perform uh what’s uh bter going to do like is he going to switch to 352 which uh we’ve been talking about on our podcast that it would be like the best fit uh for the US’s national team but hopefully uh Joe SC steps up and is able to shut down Luis Diaz today is it performance or Victory what do you think is is most important I think a good performance um obviously Victory would be ideal but uh a one-1 two2 draw where we look threatening I think is ideal going into Copa I mean a team like Colombia is definitely going to be uh a favorite or a good Dark Horse in the Copa America so if we can get something like this going for us leading in uh it bodess well against Brazil for our next friendly and what do you think is most important today is it a result getting a win or performance just looking playing good a well-rounded performance what do you think is more important I mean it’s a it’s a friendly you know the the points start mattering in a couple of games so you know hopefully they play well and hopefully they get something out of the game is that what’s key for today just performing well 100% yeah we need to to see some offense we need to see balagan Christian Timothy waya all connecting we got to see some goal scoring chances defense we know it’s going to be solid we know it’s not going to be a blowout really want to see that offense click so you guys got a final score prediction oo I like your two two shout two2 I like the two2 shout yeah I think we got some frailties in the back but we opportunities up front 22 I’m going to say 2-1 with a late goal from Ricardo Pepe 3-1 columia um n n 2-1 us over Columbia let’s do it I’ll go us 2 to1 US 1 to1 now I think it’s going to be 21 us but I would like to see 3-1 3-2 us goal by the US first 2 goals by Columbia then two more by the US 32 yeah hoping for the best as long as we don’t completely collapse cuz we we want to this is a big warmup game for Co maybe not like a 40 to Uruguay right not look like Mexico not look like two hours later burter out why the can’t we attack if we’re going to lose if we’re going to concede if we’re going to concede five let’s get an in that I mean disappointing I’m sure terrible terrible terrible we need new coach definitely the tactic was Terri the tactic was terrible the ball possession was terrible the players looked like they had no idea what to do with the ball you know there was no passing terrible very slow no organization nothing the coach has to go that’s it new coach new coach guys played out of the position new coach definitely terrible loss terrible he put I the most creative midfielder Jena to play defensive Midfield how stupid is that so he was very deep yeah very deep why yeah why how does it make sense terrible terrible ter Charles barley once said terrible terrible disgusting what do you think he needs to change I mean if it’s just a friendly but this kind of be happening even in a friendly right to get cooked off the field so we need to improve it was uh very very disappointing credit to Columbia great fans great atmosphere but poor poor effort even for a friendly very disappointing what what needs to change what is it is it player selection is it just internally is it management what needs to change no the selection’s fine the Management’s fine I think starting with effort maybe a few more deep runs getting the getting the Midfield more involved but honestly I think it just starts with wanting it more and I didn’t see that today what’s the advice going into the friendly against Brazil play you know show up for your fans show up for your country uh play with some passion and some pride I think uh Columbia is starting off two Z really hurt our USA’s momentum and uh we just we didn’t we didn’t look like we really wanted to play at the beginning the end of the first half second half at least came out but you know give kudos to Columbia they showed up they played well so what what’s the what’s the word of advice what’s the message now right next friends against Brazil cop America coming up what needs to change what do you want to see what’s your what’s your message we got to clean up we got to clean up we can’t play like that can’t can’t make mistakes like the end of the game giving them four goals I just thought it was a poor effort in the second half I think that they made a lot of fundamental mistakes I think they did didn’t possess the ball very well they were sloppy on the ball um defense was a little bit not thinking and and we’ll see when we come back next time in the cop America when we play Brazil next match was going to be tighter and stronger what do you what do you think needs to change you mentioned Brazil what do you want to see change I mean I know it’s friendes were experimenting but what needs to change I mean this this kind of happen even in a friendly right kind of be 5-1 in a friendly honestly I thought the starting lineup was fine um there was you know I mean what are you going to do about a bicycle kick goal but when those subs come in they got to be up it’s a snuff right you got to be playing harder um this is your chance to show that you’re ready for the starting lineup and tonight they just didn’t show it so that’s what I need to see against Brazil Colombia was playing very well and United State didn’t didn’t show anything yeah it’s true nothing nothing I mean I’m surprised I’m you know I’m American and Colombian and then I was like surprised about that USA didn’t show anything so what’s the advice what’s the advice to us say right what what would you tell them everything they have to change the whole team I don’t know man nobody play very well this time man man nobody so let see I’m I’m sad I knew that Colombia is going to win I say 3-1 but unfortunately it was 5-1 so that was a good game we enjoy it we love it we love it colia TOA yes yes we enjoyed the game 5-1 five good goals thank you thank you my friend thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you by one [Applause] what do you think you think Columbia can go all the way win to Copa America you think you think that’s the next step uh it’s a it’s a good step we we came here and beat USA in their home soil where ex uh where Copa Medica is taking place and it’s a good step I’m not going to sit here and say that we can win it all we still got Argentina in there we still got Brazil there’s still a lot of big teams we can play but Colombia took a really big step with this one tell me when you look at the two teams right there’s Colombia who just dominated USA who look nothing like even to that level what’s the difference between those two teams the difference is the uh I would I would say Obviously the level in the European leagues you know you got a lot of players that are in a high high high level of competition day in day out USA is starting to get into there they they got a lot of players that are in Europe but it they got a lot of unity to uh to build up what do you think overall I mean I’m sure maybe good result for you how you feeling overall I mean I’m I’m from the my wife’s from uh Colombia my I’m you know I was rooting for both teams but the US came down I mean very their mentality wasn’t there wasn’t there so when they scored the first three goals for Colombia uh I’m surprised it came a little bit back my predictions for Colombia they’re going to have a pretty good cope America for the US and I’m Bolivia hopefully score is going to be 2-1 against Bolivia and hopefully they make it out of the group stage but I don’t think the biggest the biggest fault with the US team as the coach I mean the coach he’s trying to do a good job but every friendly every competition he brings a different team and every different team brings a different Dynamic he doesn’t give a solid team enough of a dynamic to work together so I hope they do really well I’m going to be rooting for them I’m going to be rooting for Bolivia a little bit harder Bolivia is not going to do anything as always but um yeah I I I could have expected this and I’ll show you guys my Facebook post Colombia had at least plus three in this game could have told you that you watch this game and you see the Colombian players the Colombian team you see the US players the team what’s the difference there is it just quality of players is it the the style of play What’s the difference why such a big gap you pretty much nailed it on all of them it’s the quality of players um you look at Luis Diaz right he’s probably one of the best forwards or Best Wingers right now that we have in in in the world right now when you look at the us we have good players on paper but again it comes to that d Dynamic you know they haven’t played enough that long enough together to be able to build a good enough Dynamic uh when it comes to that you know Defending Your Country and I hate to say it believe me I I love this country I have this country tattooed in my arm you’re not going to have find that National passion to defend your team so on that edge every country again uh South America country is going to have that edge against the USA even including Mexico that’s unfortunately why we lost the you know the Gold Cup Final uh but yeah I think you know the US has the potential to be a really good team the coach doesn’t exploit it enough I hate to say it but yeah it is a friendly but still even for a friendly I mean that’s that’s can be acceptable right I mean what did you guys think uh yeah we did not play well um didn’t get the result we wanted hopefully we uh it’s a wake up call and we turn it around before the games really count Copa America so we’ll see what happens next little little nerve-wracking for Copa America and the fact that we play Brazil on Wednesday is also very very like nerve-wracking but uh I don’t know honestly like the way we’re playing on the field is not okay but we’re trying to grow a little bit in the stands and for me that’s the little bit of most of the important part yeah if you if you pay attention to the games you’ll see when b 76 is at the game the drums sound better the the the chanting sounds better you can hear it over the volume on the on the on the TV so pay attention you know we’re trying to improve it do our part in the stands hopefully the guys do the same thing on the field so what’s the advice what do you think what do you want to say to the team if if for you know you mentioned Brazil right the next friendly then there’s the Copa America what needs to change right I just think they got to wake up it’s a this this Columbia game is a wake up call I mean Colombia is playing real well this is a 20 game win streak for Colombia so you know Brazil’s also on a high you know but USA they got to they got to wake up they got to you know just you’re going into C America like you about to play all these like big time South American teams that have been doing this for years C Medica for years like they already know the style of play that each other play and it’s very very competitive so USA is a relatively young team in this tournament and they need to understand that like they want to hang with the big boys they got to get up there and so hopefully this game today and hopefully for Wednesday as well it’s a huge wakeup call so that they can do what they got to do when they get to cop come the end the you know I just they got to take it serious man like we’re not just here to play and you know it’s like we want to win we want to be successful now so we have the talent we have the guys they’re playing in the top clubs let’s apply that to the national team we shouldn’t just be content with just being here like we want results we want success so let’s let’s get it done on the field man all right guys so that’s going to do it for us here in front of commanders field after the US Men’s National Team got absolutely thrashed by Colombia I don’t know I don’t want to overreact cuz it’s just a friendly but that was not a good match for the US Men’s National Team and it makes me wonder it makes me worried how good are we really are we only just good enough to beat Mexico or can we ever get a really good result against one of the these top teams in South America and Europe today did not give me confidence in that but let me
