Seven months since we set off from Alaska, we find ourselves in the dusty desert valleys of Northern Nevada. It’s a part of the country I’ve always wanted to properly explore and we definitely weren’t disappointed. Huge, expansive desert valleys extending as far as the eye can see, with nothing but a lonely dirt road cutting through right through the middle. I’m a bit desert obsessed and to me it felt a bit like bikepacking heaven!
This episode takes place between February 25th and March 28th, 2023

Extra special thanks to Tumbleweed on this one! Check them out here: https://tumbleweed.cc

Thanks to MLD for my beautiful new panniers: https://mountainlaureldesigns.com/product/poco-ultra-panniers/
I’ve been loving them, they were designed around the Tumbleweed racks so the fit is rock solid, and they’re super light so I barely even notice them while riding!

I edited and published this video from Chihuahua, Mexico – slowly but surely catching up!

    *About*

In July 2022, we set off from the very top of Alaska on our bicycles, with the aim of spending the next few years cycling all the way down to the southern tip of Argentina – the entire length of the Americas. We are definitely not in any rush, and often opt to take the scenic, more remote routes where possible. Neither of us are cycle touring or bikepacking experts, but we are figuring all of that stuff out as we go. If you would like to follow along, please consider subscribing!

    1. The spider scorpion hybrid thing is a wind scorpion- they look unpleasant but they can’t really do too much damage

    2. love practical aspect of this compilation; i mean 2 days of water, three days of food, light gears, enjoying little things…

    3. I truly enjoyed your video. I always thought I could do a long trip on a bike, but about five miles into the trip my ass would fall off and I do need my ass. Good luck.

    4. Just randomly stumbled upon your channel today and binged the whole series! I was super stoked when I realized Victoria was riding a Stargazer in the second video. Then even more so after seeing what Daniel did to help the effort! I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of your adventures!

    5. I love Victoria. Her drive to complete this ride is admirable and her accent is so sweet. I love watching her videos too. Keep going girl, you’ve got this!

    6. Wow, this is EPIC – so glad that the YouTube algorithm recommended it to me and you just happened to be going through Nevada where I live. Given the snow I'm sure you've long since passed by but I'm psyched to see more videos from you. I was just amazed how chipper Victoria was pushing her bike through the mud, but then the headwind hit… I've been there, maybe not so extreme, but bonking plus extreme weather can be brutal on the spirit.

A couple of suggestions – there's a 4oz electric inflator that could make blowing up those mattresses at the end of a long day a lot less of a chore. And maybe you could carry a few dried camping meals in reserve to give you the option to go a day or so longer (if you have water).

    7. Great Video, what an amazing adventure. Aren't you guys carrying a waterfilter? I would think it would come in handy at times and you wouldn't have to carry all that heavy water around.

    8. Amazing footage but how the hell you can do this without wearing sunglasses ?
Sun, wind , cold and dust, essential bit of kit for me even when am not on the bike.
      Great job…….keep pedalling 👍🚲

    9. When I watch adventurers on YT I break it down into two camps: Those that do something I couldn't even fathom, and those that do stuff that I've done. Despite being a fmr. long distance biker…there is NO WAY I could've accomplished what you guys did; the conditions, weather, etc. MUCH, HUGE respect from this retired weekend warrior; subbed.

    10. I like your videos, and I really like your whole trip idea. But you need to post videos much quicker. Some have been 3-4 months in-between. This must be from Feb-March, and it was posted late July-Early August. By now you must be through the US! I'm not sure I can follow this for all the years it is going to take, at the current rate. Sorry. I've watched others on bike rides, or through hikes of the PCT or AT, and they are able to post "regularly" every couple of weeks. One channel posted EVERY week! That was a great one to follow. Please take some time to post more frequently. And have a safe ride!

    11. Grueling and amazing! Full humble respect to all the women who deal the trials of being female, I can only imagine. Outstanding spirit and resilience, Victoria! 👍

    16. this is incredible. wishing y’all the absolute best along this immense journey. the way you capture and share this is beyond beautiful.

    17. So nicely edited and documented. Thanks for showing the true aspects of cycle touring; the many rewards, the feeling of elation, the times of immense determination, and the times of very low esteem and self-doubt. It's all a part of a good journey. Best wishes as you carry on.
