As we continue our European travels in our VW camper van we decide to do something a little bit different this week where we give you a quick tour of the lovely campsite Glamping boutique Lago d’Idro.
Situated on the south eastern shore of Lake Idro in the charming Italian town of Anfo it’s well worth a visit for a few days. There are plenty of activities in the area including water sports, hiking and cycling.
We spent four nights here at the beginning of May which is very early in the season but that just makes it lovely and quiet. The facilities are clean and modern and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Situated between the larger and busier lakes of Iseo and Garda it’s an ideal place to while away a few days off season or have a busier holiday in the summer.
We’ll definitely return at some point on a future road trip as we enjoyed it so much.
Stay tuned ‘til the end for outtakes.

hello welcome back to the channel we are Spirit of Adventure Kath and Andy um today we’re going to do something slightly different there’s no driving in this one um we are currently at glamping um in Lake idro or next to Lake idro wouldn’t be very good in it would it um so I’ll pass you over to Kath and she’s going to tell you all about it yeah so we are as zie says on the shores of Lake idro uh in the town of ano which is a really really pretty literal Italian town there are it’s very old isn’t it it is and they’ve got beautiful archers that you can walk through from Street to street it’s completely unspoiled isn’t it beautiful church and then there’s that water fountain as well down the road which appears to it looks on the label it’s drinking water but it looks like it kicks out fizzy water he says something like that we’ll have to look at that we’ve not tried that out yet but we’ll see anyway uh the town of anfor historically has been very important in Italian History it is at a very um strategic uh area for passing from one side of the country to the other and even the Romans were interested in ano they put it on one of their Roman Road routes because it’s a perfect um transition from uh trento to Milan I think it was M anyway um on the on as I say we’re on the shores of the lake itself during the summer season you can do anything you like on the lake it’s absolutely amazing you can obviously swim you can soap I’m going to have to um go to the piece of paper um you can canoe in the afternoons cuz the wind picks up you can wind surf sail kite Surf and Wing foil not that anybody’s doing that at this time of the year it’s a bit chilly in the water for them but you can hire all those things as well you don’t have to bring your own but if you’ve got your own you’re perfectly welcome to bring them and there are um as I say later in the video there are Waterfront spots so you can you can just tip yourself into the water basically um in the local area you can ebike I really strong you’re going to have strong legs because everything from here is uphill so yeah i’ go for ebiking personally you can H hire ebikes in the area as well the hiking is amazing again it’s just uphill yeah um but the views from up there are absolutely incredible uh slightly furth field but not very far there is canyoning Husky trekking Believe It or Not alpaca trekking uh zip lining and adventure parks there’s some paragliding up on the big hills and um there’s a castle somewhere fairly local and also an educational theme park which is apparently inhabited by gnomes and fairies of course it is back in ano itself there is a ancient Fortress again we’ve not been there because it’s not open until um later on in the season but that should be a good look apparently that’s very very interesting and then finally from I think it is July you can cruise around the lake the next town down uh whose name completely escapes me um but the next town down there is a ferry PT and the the boat goes all the way around the lake and it’s like a Hop On Hop off if you stay on it for the full duration it’s 2 hours you can get off at each of the little towns all the way around and spend all day doing yeah so I think we’ll definitely we coming back here at some point as I say we really enjoyed it Haven we it’s been [Music] great hello this is home for the next few days and here is a little walk around the camp it it is camping lamping Boutique Lago idro and it is gorgeous enjoy it as you come in from the main road there’s the entrance there’s a key Cod to get in and out there’s the reception staff are so friendly they all speak English as well which is very handy and then of course there’s the mini market and the restaurant Pizzeria attached little uh Land Rover Defenders for the children and then over there’s the pool here we have the beautiful restaurant and pizeria and up at the top there where Anders here’s a little bit of a cafeteria and then through to the mini market the mini market is well stocked with booze Sweets chocolate and a little bit of everything else you could desire at the minute there’s not a great deal of fresh produce but we are still early in the season presumably later in the season there’ll be a bit more Cho just outside the restaurant area there we have the pool area and jacuzzi children’s slide and then the children’s play area as well here we have the shower room beautifully clean modern facilities and the toilets again there’s a lot of them beautifully clean and very very modern here is the washing up area there are three sinks there a load of sinks down there it’s all outside and then some more there and then here is the LA Dr and here is special area for cleaning your children and here at the back of the toilet block we have some outside showers for having been in the pool and then further up there yet more washing up sinks next to the toilet block we have the motor home emptying facilities just here this first door we we have the cleanest chemical disposal I’ve ever seen in my life these are the accommodations there are Safari tents little huts and Villas it’s all all very nice and tidy they all look lovely inside as well the backdrop is absolutely amazing the whole site’s linked with foot paths so you never more than maybe two or 3 minutes away from anything it runs down from the service buildings at the top there to the pool and then the accommodations and then from the accommodations around we have the camping spots there are two layers of comfort spots and then one layer of Waterfront spots you can bring a tent a camper a caravan or a motor home here and and finally here’s a view of the lake you do pay a little bit more for a lak side spot but in my view it’s absolutely worth it I think that covers everything but if you need to know anything else then just ask in the comments below or you can consult the local travel website which is Lake IDR
