Well it was a filthy day before I left home…we’d had lots of rain over night which continued. Wet roads, huge puddle, pot holes, gravel and mossy. The route took us from Acton Turville through Badminton, Alderton, Kington St Michael, and Castle Combe on our small engined bikes – 11 of us in all I think..

Man down Number 1 – “Young” Dave toppled over in Grittleton at the junction
Man down Number 2 – “Old” John slipped on some mud, nudged a stationery van and dropped his bike (I didn’t see this)

…..anyway all’s well that ends well both got back on their bikes and finished the run with a slap up lunch at the Fox and Hounds!

    1. Trust there were no "after effects" for the 32 men "down" ? Clean that 125 off * gert rid of it, bump starting a nearly new bike-not acceptible. Never enjoyed riding on road in the wet, but off road, I loved it, the wetter & muddier, the better. You just need to feed in the power gently out of the bends and not too much front brake.

    2. You gentlemen give me the aspiration to keep riding. Enjoyed the ride out, shame about the rain but I hope the two gentlemen didn't suffer any after effects following the misshapes.👍

    3. I just loved this one Rob, Whizzers in the rain. It was a surprise you didn't cancel but you lads carried on regardless. Glad to see Young Dave and Old John were ok after their falls. Us oldies are made of sterner stuff. 😊👍🏍 NJ

    4. One gripe is how much modern road tyres resemble slicks. Apart from a few grooves up the side, most of the time we're riding on "bald" tyres. Not ideal given the weather and state of our minor roads. Looks like you were herding cats at times, but better than watching the goggle box any day.

    5. This was like the Best Episode of Last of the summer Wine ..Massive Respect to You Bonkers Lot ..an 80 yr Olds Still Kick Starting their Hoss…I Ride a 1000cc SportBike ..I Doth my cap 11 Times .

    6. In a few years I'll be your age. I think I'll go on guided bus trips… Age-related. I never thought I'd write something like this! But my bones are already starting to hurt. Stay the way you are, guys!

    7. You’re all hard core bikers riding in that shitty weather.
I’ve got new bike syndrome, so I’m reluctant to take it out until the weather improves.

    8. I'm glad to hear that the Lads are ok after their tumble; such things happen, but they do shake us up a bit. Those conditions were definitely unpleasant, to say the least!
I didn't go on today's group ride as we had rain overnight and again this arvo; given that it's the first lot of rain since last October, the roads are like a skating rink.

    9. I must admit Rod, there has been several times (with this and other vlogs) were I wished you wore gloves! being a ex marshall & racer the first thing most rider's tend to do is to grab hold of anything that might stop them! the first layer is your gloves next is your skin, which takes longer to repair! love watching your videos, I like you don't decrease in age or repair time. If you had been in Derbyshire it was just short of Hail stones at times on Wednesday the ride might not of happened, even my old van stepped out of line 🤬🤬even in a straight line (07) plate Fiat

    10. Heroes, all of you but especially 'Young' Dave and 'Old' John. I would never go out in conditions like that and I'm a 'young' 69. Thanks for another interesting film

    11. Greatest of respect to each and everyone of you who went on this run, the weather was the pits but still all going out.
Hope the lads who came off are all ok and no messing about they just got straight back on–excellent attitudes.
Finally got the new Honda on Sunday the 26th but like your area nothing but rain, so it aint going out for the first time in the rain with new unscrubbed tyres.
      All the best to everyone.
