looks like more of the council’s new CCTV is going in down West Street we can see the actual box going on so much time and effort I’m doing CCTV but the can’t be asked to fix the botol and the [Music] flooding I I did do this the other week but uh just’s come back to see if there’s any Improvement simple answer is no it’s fly tipping to the extreme trying to work out what shot this is the back of here got B&M cardboard on the ash but mean the rats must bloody feeli they here but when the horse is bolted come back and fix it CX they had the redesigned uh front door so now they’re getting shutters but in bit late but nevertheless we did do a bit about CCTV last week and somebody says well take a look at this one six cameras there’s one pointing across the road there’s two ring door will fil me that’s three four five six and this is all very sure I’m very sure if you look on the BBC in you sho the biggest con going again them cameras are not pointing at his property they’re pointing everywhere the best of it is if you look on his back wall there’s nothing protecting his actual yard again why is he filming everybody on public areas we did report about the floods last week and just to keep repeating myself this rubbish is still there road is now open the floods have now gone the only question is for how long cuz it’s gone on that long they come and fix it and a couple of weeks later it’s back again so we’ll wait and see on that one but at the moment no floods it’s a bank holiday and the town’s dead well de than usual so I just thought I’d take a trip down memory lane cuz a lot of people like this where I’m stood now you remember this little alley it used to originally come through and this area here was the roughly speaking was the cinema the rits and all the rest all this area here was Co-op there’s the main Co-op offices there a butcher there was a supermarket and in the old days you used to go in and they used to take the money off you put it in a little container hook it up to a thing on the roof and it used to shoot up to the office and they’d sort it all out for you and one thing you needed for the co-op was your divy number now I can still remember my Grand’s a divy number from over 60 years ago go 12040 now here’s the challenge can anybody else remember a divy number cuz a divy number you got some money back across the road it was the co-op as well and the roughly speaking where McDonald’s is was the fire station then there was shops all the way up the street there was one with the uh game outside always used to have game outside what was that call and it just takes you back to the old days when things were a lot better than they are in crew now and in the old days we didn’t have any television we had a radio valve radio or you had a crystal set and we used to listen to Wilfred pickles the Navy L Jimmy Clyo who remembers Jimmy Clyro two way family [Music] favorites and we always used to get the shipping forecast what’s happened to the shipping forecast never understood what it was about a Monday morning like today all the the women would be out on the step cleaning the step with the was it the donkey Stone and they waiting for the gas boiler to boil and then they’ put the washing in a dolly tub Bel out out about and then get an oldfashioned mangle twice the size of the women it was always sort of laundry day on a Monday that takes us back to like the 50s well bank holiday Monday and S all on again at the Lum square but what happened to the market the market was just so vibrant was it all the Stalls indoors Outdoors car boot on a Wednesday it was really really vibrant you could get anything you know just come the car Boot and get your Bargains on a Wednesday and it’s all disappeared so what the hell’s happened to crew here’s a good one nobody’s going to get this before delare house many many years ago there used to be a house there with a big Garden there was something in the [Music] garden it’s sort of related to crew let nobody can get that one I did mention this before that the daby Ducks they chopped it back spent weeks chopping it back we thought the idea was they were going to keep it low but now it’s starting to come back again and the main reason is this is a path from town that cuts off all like a corner and a lot of people use it now as it is here you feel reasonably safe if you’re old or a woman on the road nobody’s hiding in there are they but as you come down especially at night it’s pitch black because the lights are up in the trees somewhere and this was all cut back but now it’s as bad as ever some places it’s 6t high so you come down here at night you don’t feel safe cuz you not know who’s in this bloody lck waiting to jump out now I have been attacked two or three times here i’ people with guns pop the Reds up you see here there’s like a little man cave type of thing where people hang about and you can see they’ve made paths especially when the kids are off school all the kids get in here we can hide behind all this the police can’t see them nobody else can see them getting drunk as a skunk and all it was required cuz they chopped it all backs on most of it because they just kept mowing the same as over there if you look over there it’s well over 6 foot high again and that’s great for the Wildlife but if they chopped it all back and put some decent shrubs that didn’t get above sort of couple of foot high it’s just ideal for all sorts of criminal activities people hiding in the bushes people smoking people doing drugs people fly tipping so oh want for the sorting out people need to be feel safe walking across the docks not expect somebody to jump out and attack them from behind a big p wheed now last week the big news was the King was coming and he was coming to Bentley and to this church at high toown and it was officially announced it would been cancelled but then he turned up at Bentley anyway but he didn’t come here just notic in here we got a new sign on why this pest [Music] controller it’s got a sign on this what used to be the medical center been deric for donkeys years I don’t quite know we have got all the summer bedding in on these hanging baskets not the rest need to see on cuz it’s a miserable god of the takan day does brighten the uh place up a bit walk back a big new sign you could get up to £30,000 to set up this uh new shop just have to scan the code that is a miserable go Satan day and you can tell how bad it is cuz we look around we got nobody drunk and bust out on the still got the uh knife Angel and the security guard’s got his own little box now he must have the most boring job in the world well we do have a lot of pretty pink flowers by the new car park it’s June on Saturday and there’s still no official notice when this bloody thing’s going to open it’s supposed to open in December so imagine it’s got to open soon unless they can’t solve the problem with the pigeons well Bella Mama down West Street they can read that but it’s a Noti [Music] abandonment so going AB abandon the place West Street and the council are due to put in this 20 mph speed limit and uh humps and things to slow the speed down now can somebody explain the logic of this West Street’s been the same for like 60 years there’s been hardly any accidents so what’s the cost of changing it to 20 mph putting speed ums so it must be more a lot lot more than fixing the pothole empty the drain so it doesn’t flood so why am chesy spending a bucket load of money on something that nobody wants no proven evidence that there’s lots of accidents or anything so why they’re spending triple four times the money but they won’t fix the battles empty the buy grids can somebody explain the logic the only reason I can see for doing it is they’re going to make it 20 then put a speed camera down and make it turn it into a cash cow I mean years ago West Street [Applause] 4:00 it’s like thousands and thousands of where is he little so literally thousands of bikes used to come down then the crew Works came out they got the new CCTV there so spending a bloody fortune on that well they can’t get the basics right by as this last last year they put all these wild flowers in it seems now to have reduced to wild flowers which in this case are weeds such a simple area and doesn’t take much to put some decent flowers in I mean know the drunks have something nice to look at we have got some Forget Me Not they’re quite nice butter cups manyi daises 90% of it is actual weed weeds like thiss with the election com in anytime now people will be magically appearing and knocking on your door and trying to get you to V for them and offing your magic beans and other wonderful things all these people that we’ve never heard of suddenly want to be our MP they just appear by Magic so what’s people’s opinion of the uh fourth coming election the trouble is they’re all as bad as each other is the problem there’s nobody at sort of stands out most of them won’t live in the area so you don’t don’t know who the hell they are they don’t know what the hell’s going on I’m just interesting anybody’s opinion God loves a try well we’ve got some nice people here from the uh where are you from we are the British Legion British Legion Branch crew Branch yeah supported by the Armed Forces veterans breakfast club we work together and we’re promoting the branch today the through branch and we just want to let anybody out there who’s either served or is serving with the armed forces that there is lots and lots of help available all different type of that includes Army Wives dependence as well yeah any dependence who struggling they should get in contact with us we when you say Army so it’s just Army all all services all all any military services yeah whether it’s TA or the whatever anybody that includes people like the civil defense and that’s what you got to think about that one it will depend on that depends on a lot of things who which are who they with who they who they were U join in or I don’t think they’re covered by covered by The Breakfast Club cuz I was in the civil defense and we covered by yeah that’s that’s different from the British Legion this is just our forces yeah there still class as as yeah yeah organizations that come under that remit don’t they Yeah so basically the bottom line is we’re here to help veterans and Veterans depend dependence in any way we can them in the right dire we personally don’t get the help we arrange it direct people yeah direct people to the help they need and yeah for how many days just today just today so I CH to see this video you’ll have gone yes well yes so so in June isn’t there a forces we’re having oh yes forces weekend and then of course we’re having a short service of commemoration on this Square yeah uh just us just to remember the the Fallen from DD yeah 80 years ago it’s the last few days of the be 31st that’s Friday it goes back is it a lot of people visiting we’ve got quite a bit on today we got the drug and alcohol British Legion and we got the creative crew doing some stuff here which you can’t really show you because there’s a lot of children so I don’t want to take pictures of the children that’s a big event today all the old liary there’s nothing going on apart from these here which seem to be unblocking drains so we don’t know if the new Builders or one of the three new Builders has moved in yet we’re hoping for a bit of action in the near future I just looking at this white elephant or cyclopath whatever you want to call it cuz all the times I come down here I’ve never ever seen a bike use the cycle path and can it see so crazy ideas that cheses waste the money on and not fix the bloody roads and thing has anybody ever seen a cyclist coming down here I just said have anybody ever seen a cyclist and I’ve just seen a cyclist coming up this side of the road as St as it sounds the cycopath is one way so you can go that way on the cycopath you got come back on this very limited road with the cars and you go in into town totally buy stupid
