Hey Reddit community,

I'm in a bit of a dilemma and could use some advice. I'm torn between the Oakley Sutro S and the Sphaera sunglasses for my first pair of Oakleys. I tried both on at the store, and they both seemed to fit well and looked good on my face. However, I'm having trouble deciding between the two without some outside opinions.

For those who have tried or own the Sphaera sunglasses, how do you find them compared to the Sutro? What are the key differences. Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Both felt good on my face. I could not go outside to try with sunglight.

Additionally, I'm also unsure about which Prizm lens color to go for. I've seen options like 24k, Road Jade, regular road, road black, etc. They all look fantastic, but I'm not sure which one would be best for my needs. I ride around 13pm and 19pm. There is light but it can also get cloudy. Do you have any recommendations based on your experiences with different Prizm lenses? Versatility could be a good thing also.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences! Thanks in advance for your help.

    best regards,

    1. Vote for the Sutros imo they just go well with most modern helmets and are a classic. White Sutros + White helmet is always a win. The Sphaera’s remind me more of the other Oakley style shades that are not bike related.

On the subject of lenses, I only run road jade and photochromic ones. Road jade 90% of the time.

They really help road hazards stand out more than I initially thought. They aren’t mind blowing, but when you wear them it’s hard not to notice glass, potholes, etc.
