UNIQUE PLACES IN EUROPE ON A BUDGET: Matka Canyon | North Macedonia

In today’s Balkan Travel Vlog, we try to get a bus outside the capital city of North Macedonia to visit the beautiful Matka Canyon.

Matka is a canyon located west of Skopje, North Macedonia. Covering roughly 5,000 hectares, Matka is one of the most popular outdoor destinations in North Macedonia and is home to several medieval monasteries. The Matka Lake within the Matka Canyon is the oldest artificial lake in the country.

After we spent time at the beautiful Matka Canyon we took a taxi back to Skopje with our new friends. We grabbed lunch, had a couple of drinks, and called it a day! If you are looking for something unique to do in Europe on a budget we recommend that you visit Matka Canyon!
