If you are planning a trip to Burgundy 🇫🇷 Save this for future reference!

Earlier this year we had our maiden voyage to Burgundy. A place that’s been on our list for years and we would recommend it hands down for anyone looking for an idea for a small trip away !

    Key details below:
✈️We flew into Lyon airport. It’s about 2 hours drive from Beaune.
🚗We left it too late to book a car as they were all sold out, so definitely book a car well in advance.
🚊We took the city tram from the airport into Lyon which is cheap and frequent, and then took the SNCF up to Beaune. It was a very relaxing trip and took about 90 mins.

🛌 we stayed in the @ibishotels on the outskirts of town and it was perfect.
👨🏻‍🍳there are SO many amazing restaurants in the greater #beaune area and we researched and planned every meal.
⭐️ my favourite one was at #LeSoufflot in #meursault. Second favourite was #lairduprintemps in #beaune

🚲 we rented e-bikes and had a thoroughly enjoyable time cycled the #routedesgrandscrus which is a bike and hiking trail off the main roads and through what I can only describe as #WineMecca

🌆 we spent a night in #lyon on the way home. The #oldtown is fab. Safe, fun and filled with #rhone and #beaujolais wine bars and restaurants.

🧀🍇 the highlight of Lyon was definitely the Les Halles de Paul Bocuse.

🌥️ we travelled in late March and the weather was only ok. In the warmer months I imagine it would be divine
