compensation can Brighton be expected we discuss the perfect Striker current Premier League Striker actually that would fit Arsenal down to the ground all the other usual stuff as well man City winning the Premier League zalta Mark goldbridge Dave Watson [Music] right Lads uh final football filling uh of the Premier League season we’ve had a nice time haven’t we well we we’ve had a laugh over the year but ultimately We’ve Ended up where we all thought we would we have exactly three up three down and exact yeah we have it man city in the end it was it was comfy for him wer it you watch the game what I’m going to start with you you watch the game I watch the game you probably flicking between the two and watching The Better Man United at the same time as well um it was a absolute walk in the park wasn’t it it was a sunny afternoon in Manchester West Ham decided that they just sitting there deep and just pretend they were trying a little bit and look city dominated from start to finish i w I’m got a goal were incredible great goal and maybe kept everybody on the edge of the seats for a little while folden look he deserves the player of the year he’s been phenomenal you know to score after 80 Seconds the the league title were done and it would just a nice little you know I do you know what I was fuming about right so I I had to make the choice like my son’s an Arsenal fan um and I had to make the choice of should we watch the Arsenal game or should we watch The Man City and obviously he wanted to watch the Arsenal game and so he’s like right that I honestly think there’s a chance here goal for foden and and that was it as soon as it went in that was it because I wanted it to get to at least half time and be a bit more theatrics and stuff but it just NE it was never going to be that was it no I think it’s um I think the Spurs game was was where it was all out really and I think as soon as they won that man city are not going to beat anybody at home in the final day I know it happened with QPR and man united years ago but you feel for Arsenal because they’ve got to keep their eye on it but ultimately it was always going to be a waste of time and um it’s funny because I heard N Gallagher after the game talking about four in a row that’s history and I went yeah with a big fat asteris next to it it’s like what does the asteris mean mate well it’s like it’s not our fault is it but I was listening to the radio on the way in and they were like they were like it was just how good is this man City team are we seeing you know once in a lifetime and not talking about the big massive elephant in the room is that there’s no Integrity to this like nobody peps I I feel actually you feel sorry for Man City in a sense because Pep’s desperate for the adulation but you’re never going to get it like he did that picture the six and then put someone put another hand next to it it’s 115 no one is respecting them for it and in a way I do I mean I don’t feel sorry for them but I do because it’s like all they can shout at and you’ll get it in the comments here bitter salty goldbridge this that but that’s all you’ve got like what about the fact that we don’t respect what you’ve done it’s a really I blame the Premier League do you think that um when this is all done and dusted and all the chares come to light of whatever it might be and do you think man city will just sort of get away with this um well I I mean by law they’re not guilty are they so if they get found not guilty they get found not guilty but they they will lose because none of these titles have been have been um respected the way they could have been respected so even if they get found not guilty they can’t go back in time and everyone go what a good team it was because PE the court of public opinion’s already had it and the big thing is and we’ve said it many times is that it should be spoken about more uh and it should be mentioned on sky and it should be mentioned on talk Sport and TNT but they’re all on the Premier League gravy train so they won’t say it because they’ve got contracts the Premier League have charged Man City with5 things no not not not the fans the Premier League have apparently that rich Richard Masters didn’t even turn up so the etti had yesterday so man city is sort of banging the red against the wall saying we’re brilliant we’re brilliant we’re brilliant everyone else is going yeah but look and and that’s but the Premier League is boring because of it I feel sorry for the team now yeah because the team now is a phenomenal team and they’ve deserved to win that League they’ve finished the season as they finish every season the the the mentality towards the end is what blows everybody else away and that is a phenomenal team an exciting team yeah they’ve got hundreds of million P of pounds with a Talent sat on the bench but all these Chargers has given them the platform to be in this position yeah but I don’t blame the players now they they they it’s not their fault they’re phenomenal individually collectively Guardiola they’re the real deal but you can’t can’t brush the other stuff under the carpet to get them to where they how do you feel as a player who’s obviously the most recent one who’s retired um obviously wat next and then me um I still do play a bit of FIFA though but you’re a player for Man City you’ve won four in a row you look around and you look at man united sides of the past Chelsea sides of the past Liverpool sides praise praise you’re not getting any praise are you bothered no I don’t think you are I don’t think you are because um I think everybody that knows um football and what it should be and how it should be played see this man City team and go that’s just it’s a sight to behold mark it is and it like you say it’s boring at times but they are so good and so much better than everybody else what if it’s built on cheating I I get it I completely understand it and I’m with you I completely agree would that not hurt you as a professional footballer that people think you’re a bunch of because you still just have to go and do what’s in front of you so every Saturday afternoon every Saturday afternoon you still have to go and do that and well I you know what’s interesting actually I asked Mark a question before um on the United stand earlier and I said who is the most important person in that whole Man City thing the players the staff the coaching staff the M who is the most important person and he said Pep Guardiola and I went yeah I I totally agree I said I think with Pep Guardiola in charge Man City are almost Invincible almost Invincible but if he would have said at the end of the game that’s it I’m done I’m leaving in the summer right everybody would have gone what on Earth for one but two genuine doubts for next season as to whether Man City can go and do this again you know because I think with him in charge that man City team win everything without doubt and there you always will but it just goes to show how important that one guy is though doesn’t it yeah and I think you’re going to see it now because klopp’s left Liverpool exactly nine years um and you can have all the Fanfare and he can try and motivate the team like he did at the end of the game for next season so Alex Ferguson did it to try and motivate the team for David Moyers yeah and I’m not saying it’s going to be the same kind of outcome but very difficult to replace what that guy is and you could see the players as he was speaking as he were leaving there were Tears in their eyes very emotional because he was a great football coach and tactician but I think they saw him as a father figure a proper man who who helped him through certain times in in their careers the lives I think he won more than a football manager to them yeah and it’s very difficult to create I was watching the end of the man city game and a lot of the um like the the the panel people like the commentators and that were asking pep how do you motivate these players how do you just keep motivating them four in a row and you’re winning this how did you just keep getting them going year after year after year and his basic answer was if I have to motivate them yeah to go out there and win games and play football like give everything you’ve got then I’ve done something wrong basically I’ve done something wrong I’ve signed the wrong players if I have to ask you to do what you’re paid incredibly well to do then it’s my fault because I have signed the wrong player and that’s how it should be yeah 100% I mean um he you can’t put Pep Guardiola in charge of Spurs or man united and win the league because they haven’t got those players to do that and when I look at Man City and praise them and W’s right and you’re right it’s an amazing bunch of players which I believe has been put together through help that no one else can do and they might get found guilty for that but ultimately he’s got the best striker in the world who’s a machine yeah Kevin De bruyne is a machine rodri is a machine you’ve then got foden who is one of the most talented English players I mean vardal again you’re talking about recruitment Vel they do it year after year because they bring in a certain type of player because underneath Pep Guardiola there’s this and above Pep Guardiola there is this model of professionalism that they would not sign a Jaden Sancho yeah they would not sign um a joey Barton they would not sign no matter how good they are they’d go there’s something in there think they not signing Mark goldbridge yeah unfortunately did you see I found again we’re GNA we’re going to talk about Arsen in a minute as well but again a really interesting thing pep I could play in that man city side and win they still win the league I think you get where where would you play I’ll come on for Harland in the last 10 minutes every season when the game’s over I re I’d score 10 I’d score 10 if you played the last 10 minutes of every man city game yeah next season how many goals do you think goldbridge would score I genuinely think I’d score 10 I love this I love this you how many you think you’d score you’ve got a good left foot all you got to do is get your well you get a few penalties for a start I’ve scored six against it NFL model every time there’s a penalty get you on special teams how many do you think you’d score if they got 15 penalties and you took 15 how many I’d fan myself for six I think you’d crumble in the pressure would you got that crowd you imagine you taking a penalty for Man City at Old Trafford a miss it i’ Miss i’ I’d see with someone in the crowd i’ go you smash straight um sorry quick I was just saying they they asked um they were talking to pep basically and they he said he said I don’t know what you guys think with regards to some of the players that we sign and whether it’s a genius he says we signed Highland a couple years ago and it was basically said like we’re signing this guy and I knew about Highland anyway I knew he’s a fantastic player I knew what he’s like as a character so fit the bill he said so we had to change our team shape and the way that we played as a club to cater to earling Highland he says we don’t sign the players and it’s just sort of like he says we have to change the way that we play so we can’t play with a false nine anymore we can’t play with the Sergio Aguero type players where we pass pass pass he say we have to change and adapt to the players that we’ve got and when he’s talking about I’m thinking yeah it sounds so obvious as well but that’s bollock as well because he’s not he’s he’s not he’s not sat there is he at home thinking I’m having lasagna and then his wife comes home with a bloody misaka you know he’s he’s not it’s not like he’s sat there and he comes back from his holiday and he’s sat there with his Miss is going you know what I could come back and they might have Ari Maguire amrabat and uh and Scott momy you know there’s you’ll have an input they’ll go to him and also it’s not a hardship is it uh by the way pep I’ve completely [ __ ] up your plans I’ve just bought you the best striker in the world oh what guarantee it’s like somebody’s come over a new watch for him it’s like it’s over a Rox or an AP or something really it’s not going to be a Casio right it’s not going to be CIO but I heard him as well like there’s a few City fans going on about it it was like they were like really trying to build it up and look fair play they’re the best team in the league and you know if you want to congratulate them Now’s the Time I won’t but they were saying and we’ve done it the hard way this year you know we’ve had a few injuries Jon Stones has already played all season de bruyne has missed half of it Harlem was out for two months and I was like and they think nurses have got it hard I mean bloody hell you’ve got the best Squad in the oh so what did you do when Harlem was injured oh put Alvarez there when Jon Stones was there AI a Vel Diaz you know de bruyer out foden Bernardo Silva some young kidss coming through the only chance for anybody else is in a year’s time he might be having the klopp speech and then it could all be a recent and then it all changes again I still think it’s a good job to walk into like it I’d like it as long as there’s a good coach out but it’s not as nailed on P Green is won it with them without pep it is not as nailed on man won it that’s all I’m saying okay it’s not it’s pep didn’t build the man cityy he took it now the standing like we’re going to talk about Arsenal now I fail for Arsenal right because the the season that they’ve just had wins the league probably eight nine times out of 10 yeah I’ll tell you what with Arsenal though I mean apart from the normal stuff around structure and and and money I do think that arst artetta is just up Pep’s ass why well it’s it’s his prot toj isn’t it it feels a bit like yesterday when I was listening to him he was like we lose to the better team Man City I I don’t know whether it would get them any more points but I almost feel like klopp did it because it there was a rivalry there whereas with artetta I mean look it’s not the reason that Arsenal haven’t beat Man City they couldn’t do anymore but I think artetta probably could try and be little bit more aggressive and meaner I mean look they went to the etad didn’t they and played for a point yeah when they were on top as well they could have if they would have gone for the throat there and they could have won that game that is the difference well you always look back over the season and and there’s minuscule moments especially when there’s two really really good teams but uh yeah it’s the mentality isn’t it man that Arsenal game yesterday I honestly I was pulling my hair out at times we were talking about this before the show and um listen Arsenal are they’re very good like really really really good right and they battered Everton absolutely battered him right and they would have had I am not even exaggerating it at least 20 forward movements into the Everton box 18 yard and I’m thinking this could this could be a goal here this could result in a goal and there was nobody there clinical enough to put the ball in the back of the net nobody there if Aram can address that window what do Arsenal do to catch Man City do you know what came up with a belter earlier he said they just need somebody they need that guy who is that little fox in the Box the sniffer the poacher somebody’s going to put the ball in the back of the net Dominic salanki he said I think that would be a great fit for Arsenal I really do a Dominic salanki good in the air physical works his sucks off puts the ball in the back of the net he’s only a goal scorer though is he that’s what they need though I think we’d end up talking about him if it happened like we’re going to talk about Watkins when we talk about Villa like the season here I think he can do that for Arsenal vill have played a certain way to help Watkins for sure and his games developed but I think sank is a very very good Premier League footballer but I think he could he’s got space to grow to take them to another level as well as himself they definitely need to bring a striker in I tell you what though hot take biggest moment of the season when you think about was it two points Man City yeah if if Michael Oliver gives that penalty against dku in the last minute handfield yeah and Liverpool score that man city it’s a twoo Point swing is it massive two point swing the these are all the tiny little D the Arsenal game yesterday by the way Jesus hand balls it in the middle of the pitch goes forward Michael Oliver goes to look at it on the screen and goes yeah that’s fine no but that starts that starts because Ashley Young obviously X-Man United players thought right I’m going to play a really good Square pass I don’t want City winning this and Away you go and then he’s obviously spoke to the ref come on at least give him a goal a m come on what does this do for um Arsenal psychologically then MK for next season um like say I think this season’s been incredible for them and the standard is so high now you know that if you want to win the league the Premier League then you’re going to have to beat Man City and you’re gonna have to have the season of your lives can Arsenal replicate this again next season I don’t think Arsenal can do anything more than what they’ve done and I think apart from the Villa loss which is absolutely brilliant in a in a t in you know we want to see those results um but you’re right if they want to tople Man City they’ve got to turn the league into something we don’t really want which is this you’ve got a win your last you know 15 games in a row um we you know the great thing about that Villa result and the palace result at anfield is you know this is what used to happen when United won titles you get these I was watching the 99 series and it was like Arsenal have dropped points here and then United go to Blackburn and drop points who were in a relegation battle that’s proper title race this is what I’m talking about with how hard it is to win the league then you know that you you’ve got to be like you’ve got to be slightly better than Man City who you know are going to be relentless you’re talking 90 points at least now to win Premier League it’s as high as it’s ever been you’re walking in first day of pre-season and you you obviously know it’s a a long SLO it’s a marathon not a Sprint for sure but as a coaching staff before you would address the Players on that first day you’ve already had a couple of days in and you’ve had your meetings and you’re basically saying we need 90 points here guys or we’re nowhere near it I think you’ve got to look at it and go what 120 points up for grabs 37 wins Man City Games take them away Liverpool away you know Chelsea you know top six we’ve got be around 90 to 100 points because I actually think the scary thing is I’m absolutely convinced that this is not a good season for Man City I think the injuries to De bruyne for half a season probably 10 points um coming off a treble which is a different thing they probably 10 points where I would have put them off City I agree so that for Arsenal they’ probably hit a 10 out of 10 they can’t do anymore and for City I probably say they’re a seven and a half yeah and that’s the scary that’s really scary still good so you go back to you the point we were just making how do Arsenal get that you know if they’re at a 10 the ceiling they’re they’re virtually at the ceiling they’ve got to sign a couple of out andout goal scor yeah somebody that’s going to two they need two players really that are going to go into their team and improve it well they need two players in every position if I could what I would do for Arsenal and even then our Teta against pep would become the problem so with the whole Squad that Arsenal have got I would take take from uh I would take like porro from Spurs to be a right back to to fight with white two really good center backs three really good midfielders isaach and Gordon and you know Jared Bowen you know just just to bump out the squad and they’re never going to do that no they can’t even then them players cost a lot of money you know that’s what man city that’s a million quid that’s Chelsea already me I think Arsenal need that you know another five eight first team quality top players I’ll tell you what though one thing I’ve learned this season is um my Fantasy Premier League has gone to pot like you wouldn’t believe I have already written down a list of must haves for next season I’m going to take it serious next year as well Jay Luke I’m GNA take it serious next year I’m not going to lose interest at Christmas time when I forget that there’s a middle a game week in the middle of the ridic Friday night killer isn’t it yeah Friday night it’s pathetic isn’t it come on um so I know what I’m doing wrong and I’m going to watch like Jamie does all those Tik Tok videos and all the you know the FPL pods and stuff like that and so you plan and stuff he on Tik Tok that’s does he watches watching other videos he’s horrible he’s as sweaty as he cheating it’s basically cheating cheating um right Liverpool then let’s talk about Liverpool um signed off with with a win um youngog Club final game U the Premier League is going to be a poorer place without him true yeah I’m S I look as even as a United fan I watched it and I wouldn’t say a shed a tier but you know what that’s the biggest compliment I can pay and there’s a lot of United fans who feel like this is that when he came in I never thought I’d see Liverpool win a title in my life again there was just never thought it was going to happen and leaving Liverpool I can honestly you know I would applaud him I think I think what he’s done is absolutely incredible um and you know what what a guy and I I can understand the exhaustion as well I mean going back to Man City you would be exhausted what more can he do with what he’s done with Liverpool um and he must look at it and go like we’ve just spoken about I can’t I can’t get close enough to do it and it must be really exhausting look at St there Liverpool have averaged 85 points per season since klopp first season at the club uh in the Seven Seasons prior to him joining they average 63 points per season 85 points per season he got in the Premier League with Liverpool and one league title it’s that’s that’s what how hard is it it’s so hard and I think that’s why you’re right like who motivates the motivator when when you’re at the top of the tree and it’s so so hard the job anyway but you’re up against that team that you know with all your skill set and with all the rec everything you’re doing and all the little bits and pieces it’s still so hard and to motivate yourself to be able to motivate that group of players and as I said earlier I think that’s the only chance the rest of the league have got is when the motivator at City decides to call it time you can say how much um it was nice actually after the game wasn’t it all the players on the pitch and stuff and clopp doing the talking and all that kind of stuff um and a couple of the players actually got fully emotional genuinely crying I’ve never seen that in football when a manager normally when a manager leaves you’re thinking get ining for this some people jumping up and down behind the scenes normally but I I think he’s been the real dealer at that football club for sure and also it must not be forgotten that when he signs a player how many players as he took from average to top class or from Top Class to world class he’s an improver of players and he’ll be a real loss to the Premier League as well as a character did you say that he um started inag the other day no he started Instagram right um I’m sure it was Friday or Saturday Saturday I think it was right created a new Instagram account kloppo it’s called how many Instagram followers you think he’s got already two days three days 4.2 million I’d have said five million can’t download it’s 2.1 million good yeah it’s not bad it’s not far off me though it’s not bad yeah it’s not yeah of course yeah very close to my 18800 yeah man he’s prolific he’s put nine posts out already in like three calm it down wait get holiday cuz he’s a Geer he’s there with his cigar and his beer on got the big Steiner oh my God before we move on um I want to talk about Byer Leverkusen quickly actually because they’ve just done the unthinkable they’ve done the absolute Unthinkable and gone the whole SE the whole season undefeated which is just absolutely Bonkers next season quick prediction for Liverpool where’s this going to leave them with the new manager and um what you think what you think this means um just lus don’t want to upset Arsenal fans even more but that invincibles has got to be better than theirs I’d say so because they’ve win they’re winning trophies as well they winning Cup tournaments and also they’ve broken a dominance of Bayern Munich whereas arsenal were an amazing team but they were probably favorites that year oh getting the comment you is that Invincible season for Bayer lusen more impressive than the arsenals it’s got to be because they’re winning trophies as well as the league and the toppled Bayern Munich they wouldn’t been favorites um but then again it’s a weaker league but then again it wasn’t that strong when Arsenal wi it give me give me your Liverpool predictions I’m just going to have a look at the league tit table the difference as well they’ve stuck it out in Europe Cup competitions at home I mean it’s 50 odd games now yeah Arsenal yeah they stayed unbeaten in the league which obviously they’ve done as well but they’ve gone the whole thing and they’ve got the cut final against Kaiser slon Atlanta game yeah In fairness they only play 34 games don’t they in the German league but they’ve won 128 Drew six played 34 Drew 12 w 128 Drew six lus that’s incredible what they’ve done they deserve a lot more hype I know a lot of people talking about and we talk about the league Bayern Munich and Dortmund both in the Champions League semi-finals by the way Dortmund in the bloody final Munich finished third stuckart came second there’s a lot when you deep it about that Leverkusen run that is massively impressive um quickly Liverpool talk to me about Liverpool next season Anna slaugh as a manager how do we see it going for them next year it’s it’s a bit hard to tell surely L look it’s very difficult um he he plays a good brand of football it’ll suit 433 that that’s what Dutch Football is that’s what he’s been brought up on grown up on I think fire no in terms of the culture the stadium if you’ve ever been it’s it’s not like anfield because it’s a unique Stadium fire but I think the the fans and how they react to the team the manager the feel would be a little bit like Liverpool But ultimately he’s got to it the ground running with that team and if they start poorly and I we just said you need 90 points to have any any chance so you drop a couple of cheap points early on the pressure’s on him and he not felt pressure like this even though he’s done the stuff in Holland and won titles and they’ve been close this year and played great football the Premier League’s a different machine big step up and I think to follow klopp and the relationship he had with the players I think that’s where he might fall down when was the last time a Dutch manager came to the Premier League and and did well last season been a while at Southampton I think this three three things that will dictate how well he does um and it’s about players who stay yeah those are van djk Trent Salah yeah if they all stay then a bit like an with son at the start of the Season those players can help you out because they’ve been there and done that score goals keep your clean sheets he needs a good start I don’t think anyone’s saying that Liverpool got a challenge for the title but he needs to be in the top four next year um and obviously sty of football is important but if he lo you know you losing klopp’s one thing but if they lose G and Trent or something like that you’d worry trouble massive trouble um all right let’s go salur park Lads um I’m not going to say I saw this one coming but I saw this one coming I think Villa players have been on the piss all week they’ve had a lovely time they’ve secured Champions League qualification um and they got absolutely pumped by Crystal Palace 5 now the the champagne were getting sprayed all around the after end of season dinners wasn’t it when uh son missed that chance and um they were done they wouldn’t have win this game anyway I mean like look Spurs are pratts because you know whether they could have beat Man City or not an was right they’ve won they’ve got a lot of points at the end of the season at the end of games and that crowd wasn’t up for it against Man City and if they’d found you if they had had a crowd that was up for it and a team that was up for it and they had beat Man City they would have got Champions League football because Palace were always going to beat Villa because for some reason fair play to the manager Palace are absolutely on fire and I know they have been on the piss and they would have played better but i’ still would have said Palace would have won so he he’s been he’s been a real good signing I mean you and I know Roy very well and I didn’t want him to finish that way but the guy’s coming and he’s taking the team uh a step forward again look you know when elisi uh is playing and they’ve got the Wingers on both sides and matto gets a hattick but he’s looked like the real deal 17 18 goals in his first season in English football but like there were there were a good picture of Steve Parish in in the crowd and he’s talking about the manager like he’s only been here four five months and they’re talking of potentially Bayern Munich this that and the other and again you know Palace we’ve not probably given the credit they deserve for recruiting a top manager yeah to replace Roy and um yeah they look like they could push on if the team stays my fear for them is they’ll lose the two star players this is a massive there’s more than two star players now though isn’t there because you’ve got the Mata you’ve got wton you’ve got e and Elise e and Elis are at the top of gu at the back they’ve got they’re to play good as well about at the top of some big teams shopping list aren’t they man united are getting linked with Alis say like day and day out but Mata if if he loses both of them L do great in oh different ball game is different ball game next he probably struggle to get 10 um yeah incredible uh season by chrst P their joint highest finish in the Premier League 10th um from where they were early in the season when they sacked Roy I thinking Co they could be in a bit of they’ve got seven or eight that te get close to top four potentially as Squad players at least you know what I mean same thing happened with Roy last year as well did yes and and also it’s not a bad time to start playing well is it because everyone elsea sort of drops a level and you’re gone up a level for whatever reason maybe they’re looking for moves in the summer who know well they finish really well to be fair to him and I always thought it were going to be a step too far for Villa after the midweek midweek party in they were very firly on the beach a bit luy I’m really happy for them to get fourth place but you know you look at that League table Chelsea have had a horrible season with injuries man united have Newcastle have have they’re all what five and eight points off Billa it just shows you that Billa and Spurs you know biller have made hay in the sun where the opportunities come and they fell away at the end because probably haven’t got the squad whatever but they it’s it’s an amazing achievement to be in the Champions League all right let’s talk about your boys then United um tuna whenn I’ve watch I I didn’t get to watch this you probably did the whole thing did a watch along um were man united lucky because I watched the highlights and all I saw for the first sort of half of the video is man united clearing boards off the line Brighton having chances or is that just the way that they like to spin it nowadays with man united I know look Brighton are a good team um and obviously it was theer’s last game uh Sunny you know final day they were up for it um they’ve had their their problems with injuries of course got matom has been out most of the season um but they’re always going to play a certain brand of football but they’re not very good at finishing they probably should have scored two in the first half United should have scored one with momany second half took Bruno and Martinez off and United became a much better team and then Varan came on as well and it was like United was so much better in the second half I think for United it was about the Cup Final you know some of the subs we were making taking Bruno off early Martinez played an hour give Baran half an hour get Rasmus Off the Bench um it was all about the Cup Final and they started off slow but when you’ve got casemiro at the back and Martinez isn’t fit and you’ve got Waka at right back you’re always going to give up chances and amrabat had a particularly bad game so I’d I’d say Brighton in the first half with a better team didn’t take chances and then second half man united made the changes no injuries and it’s it’s all about it’s nice to finish off with you know Newcastle beating them on Wednesday we played well and they’re a good team so Brighton I wouldn’t have said after that Palace drubbing we’d beat Palace we’d beat Brighton and Newcastle so not the good thing about that is our worst ever Premier League total was 58 so those two wins have took us to 60 so it’s not the end of the world is it um the Zerby quickly before we move on W I want to I want to pick your brains about what has happened with Derby because this came right out the blue didn’t I think it was Friday this news were broke that they had come to a mutual agreement with Brighton that they’re going to end this contract and everybody was like H what does that mean how what does that mean for him going forward then yeah my understanding really is I think they’ve had some recruit meetings uh midweek for sure um I don’t think uh that both parties have obviously then uh agreed on uh a way forward with either the signings or the way that the the the football club we’re going to take the signings the brand of football and how they’re going to move forward look Brighton uh a run is a fantastic football club got good structure behind them so they’ll have something in place for sure but I don’t think when they had the recruitment meetings penel in for this week that they thought they’d be losing their manager come Sunday so you think kicked off in that meeting I yeah I think there’s been a a couple of disagreements about the way forward and the pathway forward Brighton in the end have said look we’ll have to come to some agreement but the reality is he’s a top class manager they will not have let him leave as in there’ll be a compensation deal in place for if he takes another job for sure and if he’s not going to take another job he’ll be still getting paid off Brighton because he’ll not walk away for nothing there’s just been uh a disagreement about the way forward so so it was a mutual agreement however there will still be stipulations that if Roberto wants to go and get another job the club will have to pay a compensation fee because I think there was a 10 million pound yeah release Clause Munich com in these next couple of weeks they’re still having to pay 10 million quid he’s not a free transfer Brighton and you can’t run a business like that yeah that that they wouldn’t have wanted this situation they would have have some behind it for who they believe the next manager could be wherever on the cycle that fed in but ultimately it’s Top End Business they’re not naively going to let the current manager who’s done a good job for two years walk away on a free transfer to whoever would want to take him uh I think I think it’s been a little bit of a surprise for the two of them involved if I if I’m honest with you um it’s happened very very quickly they’ve obviously not found a formula to move forward but Brighton will still be in a good place they’ve got a good team the recruitment for the next manager would have already been well underway and theer if he takes another job Brighton will get the compensation is is he worth 10 million quid it’s Brighton’s good business again isn’t it they got cedo out for 100 million they’re not stupid um I think the worrying thing for me is when we talk about the Premier League obviously we’re all in agreement that man city will win the league next year but um I think the’re three up three down again and I tell you what if McKenna leaves zp switch they may as well not bother I mean he’s a good appointment for Brighton but it’s such a shame for a newly promoted team because it’s like it’s like what Sheffield United did isn’t it or was it Burley when they get promoted and they sell your best player it’s like what’s the bloody point for and for us as the Premier League consumer if McKenna’s not they’re probably going down with McKenna but if McKenna’s not I switch forget it but that’s then the problem isn’t it like how could you we’re talking we’re jumping miles in front of here but how could you take that opportunity away from Kieran McKenna who’s got two promotions first job as a manager and we know how tough the Premier League is so we already think the B the three that come up are going to really struggle like this year so perfect yeah even if he’s the greatest if Rich manager better than Bobby Robson and whoever else has been there before he knows and the stats tell him that we’re in big trouble next year so he’s done Miracles there and he he wouldn’t want to leave and not be there or whatever but Brighton is a really good fit for any man manager that wants a platform it’s like it’s like Vincent company when he did it with Burnley isn’t he I bet if Brighton had come up last summer now he’d know I [ __ ] take that job say Jumping Ship oh you just jumping ship abandoning and all you’ve got to look at it from a broader perspective like an opportunity to join an established Premier League club like Brighton who who fit into exactly the way that you play think you can go a little bit with him and he’s still hungry he’s only had that’s his first job two promot ions if he can do anything get Brighton in Europe again get close to that top four he’s not just going to be happy to be a premier league manager at Brighton he wants to be in the top four trying to win it and all the things so players want to grow managers coaches want to grow it would be perfect we have wins um right we got the quiz in a second just quickly then
