Driver who plowed into SF furniture store was fleeing multiple crash sites, police say

San Francisco Fire Department said the single vehicle crashed into a building, hitting a pedestrian bystander on its way into the building.

good evening this Friday I’m Christina Rome and I’m Greg Lee it happened just before 5 tonight at the intersection of towns end and eighth streets KTV Zach sa live in San Francisco tonight with more on how all this unfolded Zach good evening and police telling us that pickup driver is in custody right now his truck hitting multiple cars on a nearby Street before going right into the showroom of that furniture store and I could feel a sudden jolt in the whole building Jeff Zoo working at home when this pickup truck careened into a shop located downstairs in his apartment building neighbors also feeling the impact there was like like a like vibration like and because we were in our house and there was like a big vibration and we heard like a big crash it happened just before 5:00 p.m. in San Francisco’s Design District a Dodge Ram model pickup truck smashing through the storefront windows of Ro babis a high-end furniture store on Town’s end and eth streets I had no idea what it was and then I was very shocked to see a truck sticking out of the furniture store moments earlier police say the driver hit four cars and took off before apparently losing control hitting a pedestrian and going right into the store I saw some some people yelling like there’s there’s the the driver’s still in there police say the driver who was initially unresponsive was rushed to an area Hospital the surrounding streets temporarily shut down as police interviewed Witnesses and brought in a tow truck to remove the vehicle Jeff Zoo relieved he wasn’t downstairs at the time I’m thankful that the store was also uh it seemed relatively empty uh not too many people inside and police telling us both the driver and that pedestrian hit were taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries now two others were also treated to the at the scene and expected to be okay as for that driver unclear What charges he may be facing right now Greg castina incredibly dangerous seeing on a Friday night there in the city Zach sauce thank you d
