    1. Oh wow, those refurbished Cologne S-Bahn trains look better than some brand new carriages actually!

1:56 — reason for terminating at Rancho Cucamonga and not go all the way to LA Union station: capacity. LA Metrolink doesn't have the additional capacity to support an express run of the Brightline West along its San Bernardino Line tracks since the last 10 miles are single tracked in the median of the 10 freeway. I feel they could've added some additional trackage towards the south, stop at Ontario Airport, then jump on the Riverside Line tracks and take those to Union Station, codesharing as a Metrolink shortline along the way. Eventually this should be solved once the California High Speed figures out the route between LA and San Diego but that's way off in the future. Until then, Metrolink will need to double track the 10 Fwy segment and add capacity somehow.

    2. Happy Birthday 🎉! Thanks for covering the news about Dresden! I hope that converting car lanes to bike lanes won't cause this much drama in the future, because the city already anounced another bike lane-test (there will also be one car lane remoced) on another bridge. I really admire the courage of the transportation mayor to stand up against the car oriented Dresden people (myself not included)😂
