Yes there is, and the good thing is that you can ride/walk/camp on anyone's land because of something called "allemansrätten" as long as you don't damage anything.
Gosh! Landowners are not so friendly here in the UK. I mean there are public rights of way. There was a huge debate about 5 to 6 yrs ago which went to the Government and became law to encourage "The Right to Roam" – roam means to wander around at will. However, you have to stick to public paths and some land owners still make it very difficult for walkers and other users to use their paths. But say for example a farmer blocks a footpath he is breaking the law. It's still a sensitive subject 🙁
The worst part of this whole thing Jakob is that you know the UK still has quite alot of forest which the public are trying to hold onto so dearly – for walkers and mountain bikers to enjoy? Well, the UK Government has earmarked several forests to be taken into private ownership, more often than not if a forest has been taken like this into private care it means that it will be sold off and probably destroyed to make way for housing developments! Very worrying!
I'm riding a Merida Big Nine 29er. Works great! Have been riding it all winter with Schwalbe Ice Spiker Pro. Have fun in Sweden! Were to in Sweden are you going?
Ok, I have never heard of "Älghult" 🙂 I guess you can have fun in Sweden without a bike, but I dont know how 😉 If you visit the north of Sweden; dont forget your bike 🙂
On that day she ran 60 km and had no trouble at all. She is very fit, but we started out with shorter trips 15-20 km when she was young. I dont want to push her to hard, but I'm pretty sure she can run +100 km.
I really enjoyed that video. . Great to see the setter and her boss having so much active fun together. Impressed by the distance. What is the avg moving speed on a typical trailride like this?
I have a 4 month old Irish Setter puppy and plan on doing lots of running and MTB with him when he's ready.
nice to see the Irish Setter getting some good running in. That's one breed that's hard to tire out…. with the Border Collie being #1 (hard to wear out) in my opinion. Piri Piri seems to know not to cross into your bike path…
