STORYLINE:
People enjoyed the warm weather in Serbia’s capital Belgrade after a deadly storm ripped through the Balkans last week.

Some spent their time sailing on boats on Sava river while others cooled off in the shade or at the city’s many bars and restaurants.

Top sights include Kalemegdan fortress and Republic Square in the city’s centre.

With heat records being shattered all over the world, scientists say there is a chance that 2023 will go down as the hottest year since the records started in the mid-19th century.

The month of July has seen extreme heat throughout Europe and North America.

Deadly wildfires spread across Italy, Greece, Algeria and neighbouring countries in recent days.

And even though there are several more days of heat to come, they believe it’s likely the warmest human civilization has seen.
