An 8 day ‘eurohike’ from Munich to Garmisch, along the river Isar, and into the Bavarian Alps. Starting in Munich on Waldfriedhofstrasse, we make our way to the start at Pullach station to Ebenhausen and public transport to Schäftlarn. We take a Eurohike coach to Starnberg and briefly admire the lake before cross country walking to Tutzing and a train to Bernreid. A false start to reach Lake Starnberg gives another fine day’s walking to Iffeldorf and a train to Kochel. We spend our rest day part circumnavigating the beautiful lake Kochel. On day 5 we take the bus over the pass to Walchensee and hike to Einsiedl and past beautiful waterfalls to Wallgau and thus to Krun. Day 6 and we take alpine valleys through Esterbergalm to finally reach Garmisch. We then spend another day on the hill round Garmisch before taking the Green bus to Munich. 2023.
