Some flurries to try and go clear no it’s uh this is Sepeda the other sepa now who’s trying to go clear at the group COV is just closed them down here U but the two groups have now come together but I’m just looking to see if there’s

Any Israel Premier Tech Raiders in that I can’t see too many which means Ste Williams is on his own um what I was saying when the group’s coming together if there’s a couple of um you know your teammates there’s still enough uh time to to come to the front and try and can

Ra Brandon by but for the moment you know the the initial tactics of you know just I think we said at the start of the the the show today that you know U memor is a really strong team and you know variety of winners and you know they they’ve just decided to

Attack after attack COV was the last one now Brandon Mel but Stevie Williams I think he’s recognizing he could be um you know raing for second place here yeah he’s got Yer up alongside him now as well so the big players the people we’ve mentioned being the big ones to

Watch for today now full in full effect but they are chasing a brilliant time trialist in Brandon MCN if we discount Brian the um the muor challenge race at the beginning of the year this is actually his first one- day race of the year because he rode valenciana which he

Won overall having one stage four then he rode the UAE tour picked up the time trial win there as well and then of course he rode Parry n where he finished third overall this is his first one day race of the season and he’s on a

Flyer yes and it’s just the the teamwork having the numbers in front and it was one attack after the look it’s not over yet 15 seconds it’s not over um but you have to say he’s quite confident um because it was on The Descent that he actually you know made the difference

And so you know while there’s a lot of kind of negative riding behind when I say negative riding I said look they’re not wanting to help each other when you got a group like this um you need either some some riders with teammates if there’s no teammates there then you have

To uh can of work together but 15 14 seconds is not a huge gap um but we know that Brandon Mel is very capable holding that and if it comes to the bottom of that this final climb Jaz and it’s still the same it’s going to be a really

Exciting final yeah he won I remember Brandon winning the Ford ardesh classic uh just like this two years ago very similar thing big late on climb went over the climb just attacked over the top of it extended on The Descent and then time TR his way to the Finish to

Win Solo in the for dash classic that was 2 years ago but very similar um kind of distance to go from as well so we know he can do this there’s a couple of riders riding um at the front now DSM you know they’ve got another Rider in this group I think

It’s um Oscar onl is in the group in the main group behind but having a look around at the the colors that are here I don’t think there’s one uh Team here with u with numbers so I think this is you know DSM kind of sacrificing the

Right this is all they can do if they hold Brandon main to at 12 seconds you got to remember that the guys in the in the the bunch behind they’re actually ones getting a little bit of kind of um you know out the winds 12 seconds is it

Going to be enough it’s touch and go mybe yeah I’d agree with you Brian it is touch and go this is the aluru the wall the narrow urban road up which he’s going to climb we being shown 10 seconds we’ll get our camera motor back out of

The way hopefully because it is close and any of the climbers who still got some attacking yet to come would need to do it here really Brian wouldn’t there there is one more Hill to come but this is where you could make a little bit of

A difference it’s a really test mnal now Brandon mnal has been at his threshold um for the last few minutes here so this this is going to be tough um van Hills it is for a lot of um dist you have to go from the bottom you

Can’t can for the top um and and and he’s got a bit of time to try and get up to him uh you can see the Gap closing very very quickly now and looks as if van Hills has got and we’re not off the top of the clim yet so van Hills got

Brandon in his sight um and again um some other efforts here um from the the group behind but I think that was the right time to go and I think van Hills as he gets to Brandon has to go over the top yeah and that’s what he does Maxim

Van Hills now picking up the front of the race from Brandon NY who won’t get much shelter cuz it’s so steep the the aerodynamic Advantage will make no difference really Maxim van Hills looks good did appear to be pushing a massive gear don’t he’s undergeared but it’s um

It’s a very steep climb the wall the muru and oh brandom at NTI now really rocking and riding um DSM feric do we think that’s Oscar Onley in there there’s Archie Ryan chasing behind him yon as they get it behind him Brian is that is that uh onle still there coming

Up for third place at the moment looks like him um but this is where we’re just get over the top of the clim now they you put the uh the power down so he’s over the top he’s just get this tricky descent from from where I’m sitting in

The moment um fingers crossed no incidence in in this descent don’t take any huge risks it looks as if van Hills is going to write this one to Victory let’s see 1500 met to go you’re right though Brian cross your fingers legs armed and everything watching at Home

Folks because it is a tricky descent this in the wet look how tight that is there and there are multiple White Lines crisscrossing it as well so Maxim van Hils the youngster the young Belgian from Lotto Destiny going through that bend but only a slender lead over

Brandon mnti I think Brian who’s still chasing Oscar on Le there as well but not’s regrouped yeah mean not is there in second place there but the thing is what I said before we go under 1 km to go this is actually no place to to make up

Time because of the technical nature you’re going to have to take risk if you’re going to close a you know a 50 m Gap so I don’t think anybody wants to take any risk whatsoever because if you take the risk you lose the race so we’re

Just coming through the the last kind of sequence of corners and it starts to get of open up a little bit now but Brandon MCN is taking these risks and they coming very close to to Van Hills again oh he is isn’t he random noties a lot of riders would have laid

Down arms after a big attack like that and getting caught he looked like he was ragged when he was caught on the aluru by this man but uh gosh I’ve said it before I think Brandon manotti Brian I think it’s evident to all of us there’s

A guy who knows how to suffer and dig deep to get back in touch and that’s exactly what he’s done the American is now just about back in touch with young Maxim van Hils this Belgian climbing Prodigy who shown his legs today but Brandon mcal comes underneath him we’re

Going to see a Sprint between these two motti I don’t know where he’d gone there he’s up on the back wheel of Maxim van Hills watch from behind though Oscar Onley is coming yon Airi is there the Young Irishman as well Archie Ryan in the shout for a top 10 place too Onley

Making his comeback here goes the Sprint though as well Brandon man’s opened up and I think he might have it let’s have a look though cuz Maxim van Hills is in the wheel mcnalty still going for the line what has Maxim van Hills got left not enough Brandon mcot with a brilliant

Win um didn’t really canot know that Brandon mcot had won because that information maybe in the last moments of the race that when Hills comes over the top of the climb uh that information may be a we going of broadcasted back to the team um and then finding out that

Brandon R had actually won uh and that little be B for surprise yeah it looked I I was waiting to see whether van Hills had enough to come off his wheel but he was seated he did just come off the wheel but didn’t move up at all uh great

Ride by both of them either one of those two would have been a deserving Victor there was no one sitting in sand bagging they’d both been attacking both been up the road so um the right result I think for everyone watching hope you’ve enjoyed that at home a bit of

Hammering rain and lovely Spanish sunshine in the bass country too and there is provisionally Brandon monaly the American Rider the winner over Belgian Maxim van Hils Oscar Onley back from his broken collone and looking good the Scotsman in third last year’s winner yon is agir in fourth young

Irishman Archie Ryan in fifth Samuel eati Stella the best of the aana Riders the Italian in sixth place ahead of clo shusan who was the AR samsi Rider in there the Frenchman Steph crass with another fine ride in this race as he has done in the past it was MX shakman the

Boran Rider in that leading group and Fernando barello in 10th for kahar Ral that was a very open race wasn’t it Brian nice to see so many players still

    1. I watched McNulty race when he was a junior at the Valley of the Sun stage race in Phoenix. Now, in addition to being super stoked when he wins or helps Pogacar to win, I'm so here for that mustache!

    2. That is top bike racing right here. We are spoiled with the likes of Remco and Tadej making it look "easy"…..
No idea who the guy in 2nd is…but also a fantastic ride from him…however I can't help but think if the DS was in his ear more in the last 1km he may have been better prepared for Mcnulty's presense.

    3. What a win! McNulty and Matteo have made this season so exciting to watch. Ironic with what a pain it is to actually view the races in the USA. I hope Powless gets back to form too.

    4. I loved it when BriSmithy scolded the numpty over talking over the car radio. I don't know who this guy is but one thing is sure, he's as useless as the dutchy commentating Limburg today. Painful.

    6. Congrats to McNulty. Though I wonder if he could have avoided being caught in the first place by selecting different gearing on those last steep pitches. He seems to prefer muscling at a low cadence on some climbs. He completed the task very well in the finish anyway.
