Long Way Down | Fingle Woods & River Teign

On this ride, I cycled from Exeter to Fingle Bridge and then deep into the Fingle woods. I traveled on some beautiful forest gravel roads and trails, following the River Teign to the foot of Castle Drogo. That’s where I cycled the fantastic ridge at the top of the valley from Hunter’s Tor to Sharp Tor. My observations are the subject of this ride. Is it okay to pass thank Youk you’re welcome have a nice ride thank you you too thank you he you M Hi guys I’m down in the woods again um I’m I’m at a place called um steps bridge and I’m on my way to a place called fingle Bridge so today I’ll be doing lots of uh trail riding and gravel riding so as usual guys let’s go and see if we see anything interesting

On today’s ride just beautiful down here is it guys this goes on and on and on this does I’ll be going um up near uh Castle Drogo today not going to the castle I’ll be going to a ridge just below I think it’s called Hunters uh Hunter’s Tour oh yeah those people there are the first people I’ve seen on the actual trials I expect there’ll be a few more somewhere that’s just magic on it guys it really Is I fell right that beautiful guys and soon this place will be full of blue Bells this is a real strong smell of um wild garlic and it smells absolutely gorgeous I’m going to be taking a right now but guys um this is this this section’s not going to be shown on this Vlog this is going to be on one of my unedited

Vlogs so I’m going to be riding this Trail all the way to fingle on unedited that’s the bike so far might fingle bridge at in the moment guys let’s give you a 360 I’ve just come from that way and now I’m going to go that way and we’re going up there

Am that all Right normally I’ll uh well to be hon normally I’ve only ever been this way on my MTV I have never been this way on a road or a gravel bike so it’s a different experience for me but I’m loving it absolutely loving it who wouldn’t love to come out here and

Ride just bril it absolutely gorgeous here guys hello hello hello I didn’t know it was in there all over the place I yes she’s so excited I bless her have a nice walk oh it’s been so long since I’ve been down Here God the crew is an absolutely amazing like it really is this section was the only section I was really thinking about being boggy cuz it normally gets pretty bad down here so I don’t know what it’s going to be like cuz we’ve had so much rain

Yeah I know it’s been it’s a nightmare getting free on the MTB sometimes but we shall try it now I could go up over the steps there and down um might pay actually I might just do that cuz you can ride all the way around it’s a nice path but with it

Being so boggy today I think I might just go up over the wall yeah so that was the war conquered like I said I could have gone all the way around but probably extra couple of miles but it is really nice but I’ll take you guys over that way another time in the

Meantime thinks I’ve had an accident again what do you think Guys just wonderful here normally I would travel all the way down and you come up this uh up this Trail there which is also really nice route yeah it’s is gorgeous here Guys so I’m going to go ride a lovely Ridge now up nice and high I’ve got to go right up the top now it’s a big big climb Yeah I’m pushing the bike up this part it’s it’s just probably Easier cuz I know even on the MTB it’s hard this is steeper than you think Guys You don’t want to mess up your steering on this uh Ridge I don’t think you stop until you’re at the Bottom It’s really difficult to walk in cycling shoes oh my god when you’re right on the edge of a cliff there’s the river down there guys if you can see just there guys that’s Castle Drogo that’s a castle that’s been recently renovated and it’s actually powered by the river by the river down

There got some massive turbines down there yeah it’s fascinating how they’ve done it but cyclists are not allowed in there unfortunately and you got to pay what a beautiful spot here guys isn’t it it can be so dodgy Here yeah you got to have your wits about You Sand’s not Listening So guys would you ride this Ridge can be a bit hair raising I must admit going a little bit gingerly on this one too big a drop down there for me to mess around yeah there’s a lot more trials up here I need to explore at some point they’re going to be too
