Welcome to Amalfi Coast. The first village that we will explore will be Positano. So sit back, relax, and let’s embark on this unforgettable journey together. Positano is the most famous and iconic village on the Amalfi Coast, the spectacular strip of coastline with the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea.

The coastline stretches for 37 miles (60 kilometers) south of Naples (Napoli) and north of Salerno in the southern Italian region of Campania. The entire Amalfi Coast, including Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Positano is accessible by bus from Sorrento or Amalfi with stops at “La Sponda” and “Chiesa Nuova.” Additionally, in the summer, ferries operate from Sorrento and Capri. Initially reliant on fishing, the village’s economic landscape shifted in the mid-20th century with the influx of tourists.

Since then, tourism has become its primary source of wealth, thanks to its stunning coastline ranking among the most beautiful on the Amalfi Coast. Positano’s main beach is one of the liveliest and most cosmopolitan of all those on the Amalfi Coast.

Positano is often referred to as a “vertical village”? Its colorful houses cascade down the cliffs, creating a stunning and unique landscape that you won’t find anywhere else. Fornillo Beach, also reachable by foot from town, is located to the left of the main beach.

It’s a much less chaatic and far more enjoyable alternative to the main Positano beach. PLEASE LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE, IT HELPS US A LOT, THANK YOU SO MUCH. 🙏🏻 We have arrived from where we started. From this bus stop you can take the bus to the next village of Amalfi Coast.

Our next destination was Capri. You can reach Capri by taking a ferry or hydrofoil from various ports along the Amalfi Coast, Naples, Sorrento, or Salerno. This charming square, often referred to as the “Pizzetta,”

Is the vibrant heart of the island, where locals and visitors alike come together to soak in the essence of Capri’s lively atmosphere. Surrounded by chic cafes, elegant boutiques, and historic buildings, the Pizzetta is a bustling hub of activity.

It’s the perfect place to grab a cup of rich Italian espresso and watch the world go by. Capri displays a typical seasonality pattern for a leisure destination with peak season extending from end-June to end-August, high-season in May, June, and September, while April and October are considered as shoulder season.

Via Krupp is a historic switchback paved footpath on the island of Capri. The path, completed in 1902, was designed to connect the Charterhouse of San Giacomo to the Marina Piccola beach, providing a direct route for Krupp to travel between his luxurious hotel and the sea.

The designer shopping on Capri is as diverse as the island itself, with a wide range of designers and boutiques packed within a very dense triangular area from the Piazzetta to Via Camerelle and Via Le Botteghe. The Faraglioni – These three natural sea stacks are one of the island’s most iconic landmarks

And can be seen from many vantage points on the island. The name of the rocks, “Faraglioni”, is thought to stem from the Greek word “Pharos” which basically translates as “lighthouse”. We’re back at the Piazzetta, bustling with a romantic vibe and lively energy. Ahh, and the view… the view is just amazing. 😍

The Marina Piccola – A secluded natural bay and small beach located on the south side of the island, surrounded by towering cliffs, offering a picturesque and peaceful setting. Marina Piccola is a picturesque harbor situated on the southern coast of Capri, known for its stunning views, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant beach atmosphere.

From here you can catch a taxi boat or start your tour around the island. Our next destination was Sorrento. Sorrento is a wonderful city between Naples and the legendary Amalfi Coast, which makes it an excellent base to see other towns and Capri.

Sorrento itself is very charming and has also been a vacation destination since Roman times. Today, it continues to be a popular choice for travelers wanting to enjoy the amazing food, limoncello, swimming spots and natural beauty this part of Italy is known for.

Sorrento is famous for its production of Limoncello, a lemon liqueur that is famous worldwide. The name derives from the Latin adaptation of “sirens,” a reference to the mythical musical mermaids who lured Ulysses and his crew with their melodic but deadly songs.

It is said that the sirens lived in the rocks below Sorrento. Sorrento serves as a convenient gateway to the Amalfi Coast, one of Italy’s most celebrated destinations. You can easily get to Sorrento with the Circumvesuviana train from Naples. From here, you can easily explore iconic coastal towns like

Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello, each offering its own unique charm and beauty. Sorrento offers access to natural wonders like the nearby Mount Vesuvius and the archaeological site of Pompeii, both within easy reach for day trips. I hope you enjoyed this virtual walk with us. See you soon in our next adventure! ☺ ☼
