Bus Driver said you can’t bring that in here!
    @bromptonbicycle

    An interesting scenario on the uh Bronto bus the driver challenged my uh rompon bike and said I wasn’t allowed to bring a bike even a folding bike on to the bus so I said well I don’t know where you got that from I said from my understanding

    That it’s a a folding bike with 16in wheels or smaller it is allowed on the bus and uh that’s all I know anyway is he tried to check with head office he couldn’t got hold of it to verify whether it could or not I’ve been

    Looking on the bus on the um on the uh website and can’t find anything about holding bikes so that’s an interesting one so maybe the days of traveling to nting on the fronto bus are over we shall see I shall email um stage coach and do a little catch up

    On this when I have an answer in the meantime please enjoy the view from the window or not I’ll um keep bringing update when I can right I’m back at Madness man now Madness Mana now for this this section um I went on the stage coach who are The Operators of the um

    Pronto bus and uh they have policies on their website Carriage of bicycles and E Scooters non non-folding bicycles are only carried on a very limited number of buses specific specifically modified for the purpose gener generally bicycles may be carried at the owner’s risk on coaches as opposed to

    Buses as coach travel rather than bus travel whether go into the hold underneath um the crooks of what matters folding bicycles safy safely and securely stowed in the design ated luggage area and a suitable bag or box may be carried on or Vehicles so this is Carriage of

    Bicycles and E Scooters on this Stage Coach there’s also another little bit of sniff it can you take a bike on a bus generally bikes are not permitted on standard buses which are usually allowed on coaches which have proper luggage storage facilities we know that does

    Your bite fold up question what if it can fit in the luggage pen and you can lift it in and out yourself you can bring it on the bus so yes you can take your prompton folded back on the bus it it should be in a bag we know that I’ve only been

    Challenged once I got challenge in Kings Lan I won’t even ask him to bring it on the I was just asking the bus driver questions about bus times and his answer was you can’t bring that on here I’ve got the I’ve got a bag always like a bin

    Line bin a wheelie bin bin liner never had to use it never been asked to use it never had a problem with the bus so that clarifies the situation with the Pronto bus out of Nottingham so thank K I can still travel to Nottingham on the Pronto bus for two good each way

    So I’m going to max out on that and I’m going to leave home on the Pronto bus two quit down to Nottingham I’m going to have a ride around Nottingham I’m going to jump back on the Pronto bus travel all the way up to Chesterfield too quid have ride around

    Chesterfield then Pronto back home so that’ll be a a grande outour for6 don’t know when sometime in the next few weeks I’ll pop off and do that and make a a video accordingly but thank you for watching thank you for watching all the other videos YouTube’s back up and running not

    1. Never had as problem in Bristol or when I was in Nottingham we caught the bus from Langley Mills into Nottingham. No problem. 2 very muddy folding bikes. 1 brommie, 1 tern.

    2. Here in Switzerland you are allowed to bring folding bikes on all public transport, there is a requirement to put it in a bag, but I have never been challenged. The thing that is a complete mystery to me is the logic behind the pricing of tickets for normal sized bikes – in many many cases an all day ticket works out cheaper than point-2-point and if you take the bike on the train more that once a month it almost cheaper and definitely more convenient to just by an annual bike pass.

    3. As a Dane, I asked my local Railroad: DSB about my Brompton, and they had no restrictions or extra price, if folded. But I also have a proper soft bag made by German B&W, to ensure it is properly made, and intended to cover and protect my absurdly, absurdly expensive Brompton! The first for the original price of my Flame Painted, 2019 SuperlightM6LXBrompton, and the last for all the extra titanium and carbon parts I have added, and plan to add on it, making its weight well below 9 kilo for now, and maybe close to 8,5 – I haven't the exact weight after the last additions? I expect to reach 8 kilo when finished, and still with my mudguards! Finn. Denmark

    4. Allowed on Arriva in Yorkshire although it does say in a bag if possible. Only turned away once, but now have a screenshot handily on my phone just in case

    6. National Express coaches require you to prebook bicycles, availability is limited and at driver discretion. Folding bikes are allowed without prebooking at driver discretion, but need pedals removed and handle bars protected and must be bagged. local buses seem to allow folded bikes, and I often see students (we have a University and Teaching Hospital) Shout out to More Bus, the Drivers are a friendly bunch and seem determined to get their passengers on and seated regardless of age, infirmity, or whatever.
