Please help me verify if this Checkpoint is advertised correctly before I buy it. Listed as a custom built 2021 Trek Checkpoint SL7. The only bike in those colours I can find is a Checkpoint ALR 5 Driftless. How can I make sure it is 2021, “SL”, and “7”?

Look for the serial number – somewhere on the bottom bracket. You can look that up on Trek’s website and it will tell you what it is.
This is in fact a Checkpoint SL7. This is the “Frame only” Checkpoint SL colourway for the Checkpoint in 2021. Then it looks like it was built up with pretty much the exact SL 7 build kit, including the GRX810 groupset and the Aeolus Pro 3V wheelset. A solid build!
The reason you can’t find it on the website is because the frame design is previous generation, and it is now 3 years old.
It’s not the driftless version. I have one and the paintjob is different.
It’s definitely a 2021 or earlier, due to the sliding dropouts & paint scheme. Doesn’t have welds, so looks to be SL instead of AL. FYI, from the frame standpoint, there is no difference between SL frame set, SL5/6/7. It’s just the build out of components, and the sticker that gets applied to the frame. SL and SLR frames are different, but not in a way that 99% or people riding will be able to tell ( the weight and compliance differences, I mean, though the lack of the decoupler on the SLR is noticeable )
It’s got the mid-tier carbon wheel set, so that’s a plus.
