Very very young team this week that’s a great ride by him isn’t it it certainly is did a very good ride yesterday as well so uh yeah very very strong from him today are we watching the start of a year where we see Egan Barnell getting

Back to his very very best he certainly has talked about that already this year this is an impressive display in these really cold conditions let’s not forget there’s two really tough road stages yet to come in this race not least of course Sunday’s final stage with the multiple the double

Essence of montea lawya to bring this race to its conclusion lots of opportunities for yonas vineo to get a lead and prove his class he’s tried to prove it today but it’s not been anywhere near as Ian said not anywhere near as conclusive as last year having

Said that though erson sepa on that beautiful green MMR bike is just starting to be distanced a little bit the Ecuadorian leaving yonas Vore and Egan beral at the front what a potent Duo I think Sapa might be getting back on let’s see I did say it looked like he was just

Beginning to rock and roll ever so slightly in comparison to BAU who sat on the back looking comfortable and look like this has to jump around Sepeda there’s uh more pressure for finger go goes down through those pedals molar just coming back to the chasing group

Now but not far to the top of the climb and then 3 km uh predominantly down his vingo goes again this will be it this should be it but let’s not forget the Finish is not at the top of this climb the Finish is nearly 3 km over the top

And downhill so we’ll have a time trial of his own to do now he knows he’s clear it’s taken a while to get clear and he’s actually only got 800 MERS left of the climb anyway but last year’s Victor yonas vinar is now going clear uh it hasn’t looked crushingly dominant as it

Was one year ago on those two Road stages but it’s certainly been good enough to get him clear of a very very elite climbing group David God do by the way I think is in that group here and I think I spotted him it’s so difficult

With all his rain jackets on but I think Lenny Martinez is a rider at the back and godu is in the Middle with those two armor fdg Riders just like two Riders trying to jump clear from that chasing group but right now only just over 600 m to the top of the climb

And a good job for vingo behind it’s it’s in ones and twos there’s not a decent group of four or five riders that could work together on that final kind of 3 km to the line he’s got over 20 seconds now to the vast majority of

Riders this group that we see on screen now last time check was 25 seconds I’m sure it’s probably gone out since his third fourth attack on this climb so should be good now to hold this all the way to the line don’t forget he’ll be picking up Mountain points at the top

Yonas Vino as well taking the Five [Applause] Points a good ride by Egan Bernell let’s see how close he can keep they’re the following cars the Shimano neutral service car behind yonas vinar up the road two Tour of France winners at the very front of this race the 2019 Tour of

France winner Egan barell who at that stage looked like everyone thought he was going to go for multiple he’d be taking multiple tour to France wins it wasn’t to be the way partly because of the generation he is racing among but also due to the horror crash he had

Into the back of a stationary vehicle just outside his hometown of bogatar in columia two Winters ago now he continues his comeback and this is part of it he looks good I I think he think it’s not just the way he’s riding but also the intent he’s showing with attacking he’s

Got Sepeda back with him yeah just waitting for Sepeda there he knows that one versus one on the final 3 km stands no chance he’s been dropped for a Reason by Vore on the climb so he’s got probably going to yeah be up against it in terms of bringing back any sort of

Time on this slight downhill to the run but with two of you up your chances ever so slightly whether sepa can even give him a turn or or help with the paac making as such but uh you you never know two of you rolling through that momentum

Of the slipstream hopefully can take a little bit of time back just remember there’s 10 six and four seconds for the first three across the Finish Line in terms of uh time bonuses as well to take into account but finger absolutely flying down this descent this is going

To be a fascinating Chase um we know that yonas Vore is one of the best time trialists in this field he’s a good descender too as well not necessarily amongst the very best of them within a field like this but it shouldn’t cause him too many problems plus he’s got

Clear space all around him to take exactly the lines he wants to through these Corners there’s that chasing group what I’m trying to figure out Ian molinar is in there what a ride that Dutchman is doing he’s going to get a great top 10 finish on this stage I

Think from this who is the Moby Star Rider that’s what I can’t quite work out is that Guerrero I’m not sure I haven’t managed to see a number just yet there’s one in there isn’t there there is um potentially Guerrero um maybe Romo uh canel there’s a few

Different options perhaps from them yeah I think he’s I think you’re right I think he looks too tall to be Guerrero I think it could well be Javier Romo we’ll keep an eye on that here we go we had those incredible drone shots last year didn’t we of yonas Rino in the time

Trial this kind of feels a bit like that as we track alongside the Great Dane in this year of his contesting the potential of his third tour ofarts victory in a row it starts right here there was talk about him riding St Bianca at one stage this spring I think

He’s going to ride a slightly more varied um season to last year where it was a very very predictable stage racing buildup for him but it started for him as it did one year ago right here and he’s closing in on the Finish now very very close to it we’re inside the final

Kilometer according to our ticker I think that’s accurate and jonis vinar is looking set to win the opening Road stage and see if he can at least equal what he did one year ago he didn’t win the time trial this time but that’s because he actually chose not to contest

The victory yesterday that was taken by Young Joshua taring he’s into the barriers though and yonas Veno is riding a Tri of his own right here over the top of the San Pedro Deora climb and he’s going to take this stage and with it he’s going to take a big bunch of bonus

Seconds and the Gap he has over the rest of them this should see him taking on the yellow Jersey the race lead of oan Camino that’s that sweeping right-hander the left-hander two and Jonas vinar is going to take the win it will just be a

Moment of two until he gets his hands in the air but he’ll keep driving towards the line because this is time gaps over a very very strong chasing lead down to the drops out of the saddle he knows he’s done it now we haven’t yet seen the

Smile but he will do in just a moment yonas Vino kisses his ring bangs his chest and wins the [Applause] stage very very dominant performance in the end as we see two Riders behind SAA and Bernell coming up to the line hopefully we get to see who takes that

Second place cuz 6 seconds on the line for those Riders here we have see it oh Bernard’s going to just get it now that again shows how well B Bernard I’d have had sepa beating him in the Sprint every day of the week but sepa comes in third

Burnal Egan Burnal in great form this is the Sprint from behind as well N Out by one of the um excuse me one of the youngsters from the Vim Malisa bike team was still in there he has Lenny Martinez with him who’s also got a gap over that

Chasing group and Alex mullinar look at the dman going for it he is on a great day and it was I think contam Bache it was ahead of as well well that looks like um just getting dropped off the back a little bit hthy but there’s our winner uh

    1. Before his accident Bernal top 3'ed almost every race he'd been in, winning 2 grand tours in the process. I hope he can return to his best form because I know that at his best he can compete with Jonas and Pogacar

    2. Hey, do you have the O Gran Camiño 2024 Stage 1? it's a shame that we missed seeing the young TT Prince Joshua Tarling's impressive performance.

    3. Visma Lease a Bike is goingnto be formidable this year, Uijtdebroeks is looking phenomenal, Vinnegaard is a monster…and they still have Sepp Kuss somewhere in the fold. This year's TDF is going to be insanely entertaining

Massive respect to Egan Bernal. To come back from his crash a few years ago and ride as strong as he has is otherworldly. This sport will be the richer with his return to form
